Okay, here's the deal. My ferret was twitching really badly so I picked her up, But when I had, she went limp in my hands! I noticed that a lot of spit was coming from her mouth and she was breathing really heavy. I started to panic and I kinda still am. After awhile, she threw up and started looked better but she is still very weak and spit is still comingfrom her mouth. She's in my lap right now on a hot water bottle. I tried to find something on the internet that seemed similair to her situation but I came up empty handed, so now I'm hoping someone on here will help me! So if you know anything-and I mean anything!- about what she might have, please let me know! I'm very worried.

Update: I am happy to report that my ferret looks much better after I took her to the vet. Her doctor told me that she probably just has low blood sugar but they took a blood sample and I have to take her back in tomorrow for an X ray and a more thorough examination. Right now, he just gave me some ferret supplement to help her out and he told me that if she starts to have seizures again to bring her in straight away. Thanks for giving me ideas on how to help her ^^

There are many things, She could be dehydrated, other then that I'm not sure what else it could be. Possibly she could of choked on a pellet or something. Since she was shaking and vomited. Otherwise, I don't know what to tell you. I would continue what your doing. Keep her warm and give her fluids. Only time will tell.

So... you posted this before you called a vet...? That's what you should have done right away.

The only thing I can think of is a seizure. Which can be caused by a number of things. But no one here would be able to give you a 100% answer. The best thing to do for your little ferret is to get it to a vet as soon as you can.

I do hope everything turns out all right, though. ;D

Does she have rabies?

Did you give it a vaccination recently? This almost sounds like side-effects to a vaccination.

Most delayed reactions aren't dangerous. You might notice the ferret
acting tired, showing flu-like symptoms, or possibly even vomiting a
little within a day or two after the vaccination. As long as the
symptoms don't last longer than a day and don't seem too extreme,
there's no need to worry. If the ferret has trouble breathing, is
more than a little lethargic, or shows other worrisome symptoms, call
or visit your vet. Antihistamines don't help much with delayed
reactions, but your vet might suggest pre-treating the ferret next
time anyway, in case it helps.

thats what it sounded like to me, the shaking and spit coming from mouth thing. though i would have taken the ferret right away as soon as these strange simptoms happened, not searched the internet, and making a forum topic article.

Okay I was about to mention low blood pressue but I saw you had it on the update. If its wrong though search up Leukimia or Distemper. Sometimes there mis-diagnoised. If nothing he/she probably needs an update on shots. You have to get that done every year or two. Three at most.
