A lot of people have asked me how to do this recently, so I decided I would just make a tutorial for it rather than explain it over and over again. There are a mear six-teen steps and they are all very easy to follow.
Today I'll be showing you how to make somthing like this:
Ready? Let's go!
1.
To start, you need to get your two files you are going to be working with. To select more than one image at a time so you can just get them all at once, just hold down "Ctrl" while selecting your images.
2.
Possition your two (or more) images so you can see them both. If you don't want to, that's fine, too. It's just much easier. If you have to resize them (which you probably will) do it now.
3.
Right click on one of the images. It doesn't matter which one you chose to do this for. When you pick out the one you want to do, go down to "Copy" and click.
4.
Go over to the other image now and right click. Go down and select "Paste". The image you have copied will now be over the other image, but don't panic because step five shows you how to make that all better.
5.
Right click on the newly pasted image and select "Paste Options". A new box will now pop up.
6.
Here's where the fun really begins! Meet our friend Opacity and it's partner in crime, the little movable button. This is where you will make it so you can see both images. That's right - BOTH of them! Just move the little arrow until you find a opacity you think might be good.
7.
In order to see what you image looks like, you must click "Okay". If you don't like how it turns out, just right click on the image again and go back into "Paste Options". Or you could double click on it. Keep messing with the opactiy until you find one you like. As you can see here, I decided to go with 58%.
Make sure you can see both images in the way that you want!
8.
Once you have it exactly like you want it, right click again and select the first option : "Validate Paste", which will place it so you cannot move or alter it anymore.
9.
For people who have the two black (or whatever) colored bars at the top and bottom of the part of our signatures, this is the time you do that. Just go up to "Canvas Size" and change the height.
10.
When adjusting the height, be sure to not go over 200 pixels otherwise your signature will be to big to be used on the forum. As you can see, mine is exactly 200.
11.
Now just fill in the two white bars with whatever color you want. I always use black unless it's a special signature. I won't show all the steps visually for this, but all you have to do is select the color you want and use the fill bucket tool to fill in the spaces. This is what it should look like now.
12.
Now for adding text! As you can see, I used lyrics to the song "Breathless" by The Corrs. Just put your text (whatever it may be) in that large space I have highlighted for you in red.
13.
If you are going to have the words going over the picture (like I have), you will want to change the opacity again. If you want to be able to see the image very well, be sure to chose a low opacity like I have here.
14.
Place your text after setting it to how you want it. You may want to adjust the size of the box to fill a larger area like I have.
15.
Once you have the text to your likeing, right click on the text box and select "Validate Text". (That's right. More validating!)
You're almost done now...! Ready for the last step? Are you sure you can handel it? It's a brain buster!
16.
SAVE! That's all you have to do. ;D Save it.
Congradulations! You have just learned how to do magic like Maya and Tibby and others can do! ;D
If you have any problems, just send me a PM and I'll be happy to assist you.
