I bought the dvd today. When I put the dvd in and open wmm. I than click on file and then I click on Import into Collections. I click on Balto[D:](it has a wierd I thing in front of it). It than gives me this-

AUDIO_TS (I open it and it is completely blank)
common (I open it and it gives me settop, setup, and win. Settop gives my images from the dvd-rom like online featurestool bar picture. Setup and win are blank.)
VIDEO_TS (I open it and it is blank)
win (I open it and it gives me setup and skins. I open setup and it gives me two wierd files that are blank. I open skins it gives me a default file that is blank).

My question is how do you get the movie images onto wmm? Do I have to download something? Did anybody else have this problem? Do I need to take it back? Please help.

Even though you did post this in the wrong section, I will be nice and answer your question.

All you need to do is download a program that lets you rip a DVD onto your computer. THEN you do what you did. ;D It's all very simple.

Sorry I was kind of confused about where to post it.

Do you know where I can download a program for free?

Because you need to rip the VOBS into AVI's

Take the VOBS out of the Video folder and put them into another ripper. The program you are using only rips the VOBS you need another ripping program to convert the VOBS into usable files such as AVI's.

You should have gone into the tutorials section, posted just above your topic. If you take the time to go through some of the posts, you would have found this. I originally posted it a few months back, but I'll just copy and paste it into here.

Q:How do you get movies on your computer?

A:When ripping DVDS to your computer you must first have:

1. DVD RIPPER / DVD PLAYER

2. DVD Ripping device

3. DVD DECODING device

Insert your DVD into the DVD drive, if it is a protected film, which most DVDS are. You must use your DVD decoder to decode this. You may find a DVD decoder by searching google. The most common of useage is DVD Shrink.

From here you must rip your DVD into VOBS.

Once the VOBS have been ripped, pick out the VOBS that contain the film, various VOBS will come into the folder, ignore the audio VOBS, you'll be needing the video VOBS.

Select these VOBS for your DVD RIPPER and rip them int AVI's for best quality, once the AVI's are rippped transfer them to Windows Movie Maker or your other editing program and your off, ready to edit.
