OK, n00b rant time...Ive just gotten sick of this so here:
n00b-a person who writes in IM slang unnessicarily and talkslykdiis.
Yea, ok, its dumb first and foremost. You cant read it and you cant figure out what the person is trying to say.
Heres an example of I what say is OK-
[shoutbox]
(name1)-OMFG IM SO SORRY!!
(name2)-omg no way!
(name3)-my dog died! =[
And this...is not OK.
(name1)-lyk omg that lyk ttly sux
(name2)- my dog died!

Wrong, it seems like people were using this word so often that no one really knows what it means. A n00b is:A inexperienced and/or ignorant or unskilled person. Especially used in computer games.What you are probably refering to is an overuse of SMS language and chatspeak. The worst thing is that people don´t even know (or just acting like that) why they´re actually talking like that. They just go with the masses to fit into their (excuse me) retarded group. Whoever talks like that doesn´t obey the rules because there´s a point which says that we should speak languages that people actually understand. That goes for the Shoutbox as well I suppose, I´ve seen some pretty good examples already. A line in the Shoutbox rules about that topic wouldn´t be bad since more and more people are talking like that lately... No no Dan. A newb is fine. N00b or noob is not.
A newb is an inexperienced person on the Internet, which they cannot help, since they are new to the whole thing.
A noob is simply somebody who talks like shown above, just to annoy people and act "cool" which they are not. (In gaming, they often use strategies/weapons that are considered dishonorable or cheap)
Bottom line, there is nothing wrong with being a newb if you are new. However, being a noob is not ok.

N00b is kinda a harsh term, don't you think? Yes, I must agree that SMS language is the equivelant of using a hammer to drive a screw into the wood.
Yes, you can use it. But when you end up with is nothing more than crap.
Personally, I hate SMS language. It's stupid, it's pointless, and it make you look like an uneducated moron.

Agreed, just like the above few posters. There's no excuse for it, especially when you have all the time you need to type something.

I am I n00b? I figured out the title. Does that make me a 'futur' n00b? Just as me and Alpine figured the title, does that make us n00bs? As for opinions I think Dan and Silver_Balto hav ethis pretty much rapped out.
