Ookay, this is something which I don't find right...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYd40wEZdGk
People single out dog breeds like rottweilers, pit bulls, and german shepherds for being mean, aggressive dogs. Then when a chihuahua or toy poodle acts aggressive and mean, everyone thinks it's ****ing hilarious, because it's a cute dog which isn't capable of causing too much harm.
That's. Just. Wrong!!!
The dog is being aggressive, for goodness sakes! It's not just this video. Perhaps this video was a bad example. It's also ones you see on America's Funniest Home Videos, The Planets Funniest Animals, and Funniest Pets and People.
I know it's human nature to laugh and giggle when something cute acts aggressive like that. But you know what? That does not make it fair.
It is my honest opinion that little dogs are generally more aggressive than big dogs. They didn't need to be bred to be less aggressive, since they can't really cause harm, as small as they are.

This is the reason for BSL levels rise, because of us humans making doys agressvie just by doing one small little thing that is not necessary to do to dogs of any breed. The person that done the video is lucky that it was only a small dog, something like a Pitbull or a rottweiler it would of been worse and someone could of got hurt. The most smallest of things like that shown can rise BSL levels up but alot.

My dad used to breed English Bull Terriers which people automatically assume are fighting dogs.
WRONG. They were used in cattle herding first.
If you look back through history most breeds of dogs were used in aggessive acts.
Never in all my years (about 15) has one of our "vicious" dogs bitten a person.
But I did see a west highland white terrier attack a child and that child needed 20 stitches. Small dogs are perfectly capable of doing damage.
Lol - sorry.
Dx

You know, I saw something like this that made me want to slap everyone of an entire company.
A lot of people have large dogs. Correct? I saw an advertisement (via poster) in the local IGA that was of course, advertising Dog Walking.
What made me want to slap the people is this; "We will not walk pit bulls, German Shepherds, Dobermans, or any other large dog." I saw this, and owning a Brendel Pit Bull, I was extremelly offended.
The problem is this: Stereotyping. How the media portrays blacks (African Americans, whatever you prefer to call them, not my problem) as aggressive, drug-addicted, so on so forth.
Same way with canines. They stereotype them, exspecially Pits, with the BAD side(s) of the breed. I garuntee you, that when someone sees a Pit Bull they think "dog fights". They see a German Shepherd, they think "Mean Cop Dog". They see a Doberman, they think "Rabies and Junkyard Guarddog".
Stereotyping seems to make the world go around. I must say to everyone; don't listen to everything the media and/or people who follow the media say. Make your own opinions, when God last checked, you are one person with one brain with its own capability of thought.

Yeah, I strongly disagree with the whole judgemental idea that big dogs are aggressive. After reading some of the comments that video got, it just made me mad. -.-
Any dog can be made mean. It depends on the training and encouragement that it's given. However, I find that little dogs can be less predictable. Jack Russells and terriers, I've found, give little warning before they attack. With larger dogs you can usually work out from the posture. Small dogs are prone to be fiesty - read it in any decent dog breed book. When it comes to the description of German Shepherds or Pit Bulls, for example, the description is usually something along the lines of 'an excellent guard dog who loves people, needs a strong experienced owner.'
But yeah.. I've said it before. From the Pit Bulls or Pit Bull-type dogs.. Staffies and the like that I've met here, the majority are just very sweet, affectionate dogs. Archie has been attacked or snarled at by many more small breeds than large ones.

Same with my german shepard. He never ever bites. And only attacks other dogs, besides the siberian husky (Alpha female)

Random Bunny wrote: Umm, what's so bad about the video, besides them teasing the poor dog? I could understand the laughing. It's a small dog that looks all cute and friendly, and then it's all like growling and barking evily. It was cute and funny. And I would be laughing too.
What's wrong? I'll tell you. The fact that if it had been a rottweiler or a pit bull, rather than a chihuaha, everyone would be pointing at it and saying that it was a mean dog is what's wrong. The "small... looks all cute" is the only difference between THAT and a mean pit bull.
