Prologue: The cold Alaskan air swept across the open, snowy field. Mountains were surrounding it and there was no form of life, except for trees. Suddenly, as quick as darkness sweeps over the world, two sled teams broke out of one of the surrounding forest. They were neck-to-neck, and each dog was pushing themselves hard, desperatley trying to keep up, and go ahead, of the rival sled team.
"Kodi!" One shouted, "I don't think we're gonna beat them!"
The lead dog, Kodi snapped his head around quickly, fire burning in his eyes. "Don't say that, Dusty! We've never lost a race yet!" He looked at the rival team's lead dog, a strong looking husky-mix, who seemed concentrated on the race and not the other team. He looked around five years of age, but that wasn't slowing him down. Kodi looked forward again. "And we're definatley not going to lose this one." He murmered under his breath. They were nearing the finish line now. Kodi looked onwared in suprise. 'I mustn't have been paying attention to what was happening...' He thought to himself. He looked to see where the other team was. He smirked. They were a few steps behind him, but the lead dog looked more determind than Kodi had ever seen. Kodi turned back to focusing on the finish line. 'Almost there, almost there!' He thought excitedly. He began panting out of pure joy. Kodi was so caught up in his surroundings, he didn't realize the sudden swoosh of air beside him, or the loud cheering of the humans. Kodi snapped out of his state of daydream and saw that they had passed the finish line. But why wasn't he getting any praise? He soon found out why. He looked around for the other team. He spotted them and his mouth dropped open in amazement, for the rival team had beaten them.
The ending was kind of rushed 'cause I have to go now.
