Well,we have the Other forum and it gives us alot of priveleges like to post about Virginia Tech,Where you live,What scares you, etc.
I think its wonderful to have it,but is it really necessary to post a topic about your birthday? I mean every member here will get a year older every year. Why should we have a topic dedicated to you? AND,what really can you say about your birthday? GEE,HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! WOW 12? COOL!
Something along those lines......its NOT NEEDED. If you want people to know its your birthday,pm your buddies here,or tell people on the shoutbox, The DAY of your birthday. No need to post a topic about your newly age, because,AHEM,its nothing we haven't heard of or have enough to share OUR thoughts.....and isn't sharing thoughts about someones opinions the point of the forums?
AS ALWAYS I AM FOREVER FREE TO RANT UNLESS THIS FORUM IS DESTROYED!

Honestly, I can see your point here. Which is why there's been a suggestion to sticky a birthday topic and lock any "copy" topics that are like... Out there.

There are what, one, maybe two birthdays a day?

And to be honest, if your not my friend, I don't like you, or have no idea who you are, chances are I'm not going to care about your birthday! I mean, it's that simple. No one wants to talk for a whole forum topic on something that's going to last just one day, you know?

If you ask me, and individual topic for an individual topic is not only a waste of space, but a touch of spam. It's pointless when the birthday is over, and it'd be a waste of energy to have a mod lock it.

Agreed, because frankly you can talk about something else and not tell the WHOLE site your older now. >__>

Heh, if they want to announce their birthday so badly why not just put it in their siggy. I mean...jeez. No one REALLY cares apart from friends on Bsource. BUT, if you did something amazing on your birthday or recieved an incredible gift then I think it's alright.

Yes,but MOST birthday topics aren't that great.
They just get plain old after awhile and why wish someone a happy birthday if you don't honestly know them?
On my birthday,I don't get random happy birthday wishes>.>
Why should they?

I agree; its rather pointless to make a whole topic about your birthday. And I agree, that if your not muh friend, I do not like you, or have no idea whom they are... then I wont care. Frankly, I hate my own birthday.. so thats more reason not to care. ;] I think that making one topic for someone to post ON THE DAY OF THEIR BIRTHDAY that it is their birthday on that day... and then people can just congradulate them there... and then end of story. We can all then return to moving on with our lives. :D
