You know how she was more wolf than Balto? Is that even possible?

Balto was half-wolf and Jenna was all dog. How can one of their offspring have more wolf in her than dog?

Aleu was mostly a husky - only 1/4 wolf. But her wolf side just stands out more than her dog side.

Genetically speaking, Aleu is a "throwback." Like on American Dragon Jake Long, Jake is only half dragon and has dragon powers, whereas his mom is implicitly a pure dragon and has no powers (they skipped her generation). In real life too, there are times when a child will not resemb either parent, but may resemble a grandparent or a great-grandparent. These are examples of throwbacks.
