Which search engine exactly? There are at least three : the main site (which uses Google API), the forums (which searchs only on forum topics), and the fan sections search engine.
The only one I've changed recently was the fan sections search engine. I've made many tests and found that it worked much better than before. In fact, it only makes a phonetic search if you didn't enter the exact name of the gallery you're searching (be careful with the special characters...)
Hmm, well then I guess not. I noticed a reduced performance on the site's main search engine. Before, when I would type a member's name for instance, many pages come up, like where commented, their profile, etc.
