Well, I've never actually heard a real wolf howl, but the one on Balto makes me excited (no clue why, though). It makes me feel free or something like that, I guess. It's so majestic.

Same here, only in animated or non-animated movies. I have heard a cyotoe yep before but not a wolf howl.

I've heard both wolves and coyotes howl, and they both send chills down my spine. It really is quite an experience though.

I heard what were either coyotes or wolves howling on a ridge above the campsite I was in at Yellowstone National Park. The sun was just set over the horizon and the wolves or coyotes were sillouheted on the top of the ridge. Then the moon came out and a meteor shower started. Howling and meteors...it was one of the most breathtaking sights I've ever seen.

Some weeks ago, I was camping in the forest, when all of a sudden a full-grown (and lucky he wasn't hungry) wolf stood just four to five yards away from me and stared at me. He was so amazing! I can't see why the majority of people wants to kill them.
He turned his back at me and left, and some minutes later (I followed him a bit) I saw him sit down and howl.
I could feel all the emotions a wolf puts into his howl. All the sadness and grief, and the excitement and ecstacy of having a sucessful hunt. I was in awe. I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my body, and sadness and grief boring through my heart. It was a strange, but awe-filled experience for me. Ever since that moment, I always think of it.
It felt like I was torn. Like, something important, sad or exciting had just happened, or was going to happen.
I've tried to describe it as good as I can here, but... it's very hard.

I've never heard a real wolf howl because I don't live anywhere near any wolves. In films and on TV when I hear wolves howl, I don't feel upset. I think their howls are beautiful. Another reason why they are such magnifecent creatures.
