As gamebooks seems to fit better the fanfics than games, I have chosen to allow topics related to gamebooks in the fanfic section.
Of course you can only create gamebook on the site, not on the forums, but you'll still be able to further talk about them here.

Also, I was wondering who among the fanfic writers were considering making gamebooks? :)

The gamebook idea was a good one steet. I've tried it out. It takes some time but in the end its worth it. Keep up the great work!

For those of you who don't like writing things online and would prefer making them offline, I will probably add something so that you can import gamebooks you've written offline - BUT with a specific syntax, of course. (or it wouldn't work)
But for now, you can already make them online and it seems to work fine.

I like the gamebooks and I'm glad that topics for them are allowed here.

However, I'd like to say my opinion on making them. My first one was short (about 12 pages). It probably took me around an hour, because personally I thought the creating process was confusing. Matching up the pages to each action just threw me off. It took about 20 minutes and a lot of deletions before I got the hang of it and started making it efficiently.

I'm not sure if there's a way to make it easier, but I just thought I'd bring that up.

Same here. I had the same problem but it at least worked out.

Mine was shorter but I might try another one sometime.

I've been planning on making one for about a week now. Ever since i tried out that one you made. Only thing holding me back: dunno what to make it about.

Also, just exactly how long can it be? Is there a limit?

I'm definatly going to make some of these. :] I was actually thinking of doing some, then making fanfics based off of them. Or do gamebooks based off of fanfics I've wrote (or that I'm in the process of writting).

As for making them (since people have talked about this) I don't think it's too confusing. I haven't come across any problems as of yet (and am crossing my fingers that I won't, either).

But I think this is such a wonderful addition to the plentiful area of fan made things on this site. ;]

10 pages minimum, I believe.

Could you be more precise? What should I do to make it easier? I have some ideas already, but I would like to see if they are the same or not.

Also, don't worry about making gamebooks now, even if I change the send system I'll make sure everything works fine with the already-sent gamebooks.

No maximum limit, no. But I suppose that more than 100 pages will be a little more difficult to manage.

Can we use stories the fanfic writers have written (or have written ourselves) and make it into a game book?

If you ask for permission, yes.

Can we use the movies (Balto 1,2,3) and turn them into game books?

Yes of course. But don't make them too predictable, then...

Quote:
And finally, will they be listed on the homepage and show new game books, like fanfics, fanart, ect...?

Yes, I need to add this.

I'm planning on doing this, but I've kind of got my plate full right now. I have four unfinished Fanfics and my new writing lessons to deal with... so it might be a while... but yes, this is on my list of things to do. Oh, and it's good to hear from ya Steet! Everything going well in France? You do a wonderful job on the site, and I just want to convey my heartfelt thanks... so THANK YOU!

I was going to write one, but it seemed like I was going through more trouble than what it was worth so I stopped. Maybe you should make it less scrambled and more organized because as I was trying to make one, I somehow made one of my pages link to your story and...that's not what I wanted to do. So as soon as you make it less jumbled, I'll do a few.
