Yeah it kinda looks like a cat and a wolf put together since they aren't very big in size. The fox is a size of a normal housecat, right?

Eh, foxes are definitely not part of the cat family O.o
They are canidae, like wolves and dogs, but dogs and foxes are distantly related. Dogs do not share their DNA with foxes like they do with wolves.

The fox is an ancient descendant of the wolf, which has existed since god knows when. The first foxes to be recorded (source: norwegian encyclopedia) was seen in around 1452 (around that, the years is very unclearly described, correct me if I'm wrong.) before Jesus Christ. The fox (again, the encyclopedia was unclear on this point... BAD caplex!) was categeorized in the lupine family around 1600 after Jesus...
Again, correct me if I am wrong. My encyclopedia dates back to 1925 -.-'
[edit] Changed a few words.

Yeah, I think so myself... I have to get a newer and more updated encyclopedia soon.
To tibb: Yeah, they do. But humans cannot exactly categeorize anything at all, as we truly don't know. Early humans made something up and called it the truth. Today we think it's true because we've learned it's true. For all we really know, foxes could've come for outer space.

like i said before. probably because there cat like. they are very curius, have a light flexible frame, pounce there pray, have great night vision, vertically pupils, they even have partly retractable claws. partly, because they cant hide away completely, but they can pull them up of the ground and down. so sometimes a fox print wont have any claw marks. they are the cat like canine.
