Even though real male lions hardy pay any heed to their cubs, Simba really cared for Kiara. Perhaps, to over protective. So, yes I think he made a great father.
I agree with you Meeko but he should've gave her some space

In the first movie: At the scene where Simba and Nala went to play, Sarabi sent Zazu to watch over them. And at the begining there is a scene where Simba tells Zazu: "I never get to go anywhere". I see no diffrence between Mufasa's overprorective ans Simba's overprotective...
Well... I personally don't think he was a VERY good father...
Okay... for a start, why the hell did he keep sending Timone & Pumbaa after her to make sure she didn't get hurt??? Even when she was hunting, he sent them after her! She was an adult, so what could they do to 'make sure she didn't get hurt'? XD Simba REALLY annoys me in SP.
Juts my opinion. I definetely think Simba should've been less over-protective in SP

Zazu...? I think Zazu just keep Simba is all alright, that's because Mufasa ordered Zazu to protect Simba, and Simba naturaly protect Kiara but NOT to over-protective
