Wolf = Canis Lupus
Fox = Vulpes Vulpes

No, I'm 99% sure a wolf and a fox can not breed. They aren't even the same species - however, Rio and Kobi are just fictional characters, so they could definitely breed.

Well im not sure. But I think maybe it is possible if it is possible for a wolf to mate with a dog.

Not so. Wolves and dogs are the same species. Foxes are a different species to both wolves and dogs.

They may be canines. But they are distantly related.

The first meaning is the result of interbreeding between two animals or plants of different taxa. Hybrids between different sub-species within a species are known as intra-specific hybrids. Hybrids between different genera are sometimes known as intergeneric hybrids. Extremely rare interfamilial hybrids have been known to occur (such as the guineafowl hybrids).

Foxes and dogs cannot breed because they have different numbers of chromosones (sp?).

I don't think they can. For one thing, the wolf would bully the fox around since its not their speicies.
