I feel like I've got a trait for ranting XD but anyway this topic is about being a good artist and so what. Has anyone noticed like that if their really good at something but not at something else there topics are completley ignored? It really started bothering me because I'm not that good at art but I'm excellent at videos.

So when I post a topic with my videos its completley ignored because I'm not good at art and don't post Fan Fics and other stuff. Its because the others are more famous for their art or came here before you that they have comments on their topics! Does anyone else get bothered by this?

I'm not the best artist (Greykitty kicks my butt in that department), but I am quite good at fan fictions (slightly well-renound on a few forums. Balto Central [R.I.P.] was where I got my start.) I have also posted topics for fictions I've written, but they have been viewed twice, and that was by me checking for any new posts.


Why they ignore the topics I don't know. Maybe what we do is too repetative, and members/mods/the admin (allelueh! XD) think it's going to be the same stuff we normally write/create.

If that's the case, then maybe the members shouldn't judge and just look. If it's the same, we as artists and authors aren't forcing you to watch or read our works.

Heh, it doesn't bug that much, be patient soon people will recongnize you. I recongnized your username in this topic. Soon, more people will as well and they'll open your threads.

Well... some of us will be overlooked for what seems like forever. Eventually, though, you'll come through, Just be patient. I mean, look at me... I have 80 faves in my art gallery, but nobody really knows who I am on the forums. They might, but they just don't say anything... when do they have time?

So people might recognize you - chances are, they do - they just don't say anything, because that's not the topic of that post, or something. And about when you post your videos: Give it time... don't bring your ego, just keep a cool head, and wait. They'll notice. If you really are good, people will want to see more... they just have to realize you first.

If this is about lack of popularity, then you're going to be out of luck for a LOOOOOOONG time. Because it takes a LOOOOOOONG time to get recognized for something you have talent for and its like that anywhere in the world, even online. You ALL need to be patient, because people like GreyKitty didn't get where they are today just by posting something, she posted things people apparently like. So, you either need to be patient, or lean your projects more towards the preferred tastes of others. Even THEN you can't expect to be recognized for something just like that. It takes time.

Yeah, I suppose. I hate to be one who merely says "Yeah, you're right," but I'll have to agree. If you want attention, you have to post things people will actually WANT to take the time to look at. I don't know about any of you, but I can sit and look at fanarts WAY LONGER than I can sit and watch videos. It's just a little more variety. ^^

Anyway, I can't say it doesn't bother me, however. When people ask their talents are, you have people who can play a beautiful tune on an instrument, transform an empty canvas into a masterpiece, and what can I do? I slam down a manuscript on the table and say, "This is my story." I'm not an artist, and I accept the fact that I suck. XD I embrace it. Take comfort in knowing that there are other talents to explore.

Attention-wise, I know it's rather stupid, but there are some kinds of attention I don't want. Other people may INFLUENCE me, but what I feel about MY work is all that matters.

You see? Claymore and I got the "WE'RE-NOT-WORTHY" attitude. ^^ Maybe you just expect too much.

I don't mind a few topics going out but It gets annoying because 15 posts is the most famous my topics have ever been and then someone famous makes the same topic as me and they get 5000000 posts thats what gets me annoyed

Mostly what everyone is saying is: bottom line: Time, and gearing your tastes toward others. You're drawing/writing/videoing/etc... for people who like what kinds of things you do, too... the people with similar tastes are the one who are going to want to see your uploads.

It's not about people ignoring you. Unless you have a surplus of enemies, no one is literally ignoring you. It takes a lot of time and patience to get recognized for anything, trust me. I've been on this site for more than a year and i'm just now getting recognized for my effort. You can't expect instant sucess at anything, no matter how talented you are. But there are ways to get a little more attention without pissing people off:

-post links to your galleries or topics on other people's topics.
- try keeping links to your stuff in your signature
- try complements, not only does that make people feel good, but you may get thier support
-support other users, they probably want to be appreciated too

These are just a few sugestions, but if your creative, i'm sure you can't get some positive attention!

I know how you feel, I posted a topic in Fan Fiction a couple of days ago with a story I worked really hard on but no one's bothered to reply yet, you just gotta get used to it, you don't get "Famous" over night, just keep trying your hardest and soon enough people will recognize you more, as the others said, it takes time.

Don't feel bad Choco. Some people ignore my fanfic that is way I don't bother making a lot of stories myself*sigh* I really love to write. I know how you feel but I am good at drawing more than writting myself I dont't know how to make music vides like you do.
