First Rant; Spam
It's (basically) a pointless message, right? Well, I have a "point" of my own to persue. "Pointless" can mean different things to different people. Ex: "Small", "Large", "Long", and "short" are all in the same boat with "pointless".

So, what would be a solid definition of Spam? 'Something that is frankly, off topic and has nothing to do with other people or a perticular conversation.' That's my definition... Or, what I think the site's should be, as well. But in the same respects; I guess it all goes down to what Steet thinks/counts as Spam. But I take it as multiple thinkgs, like random and continuous "..."s in the shout boxes, now if it's something like this, I don't mind:

(insert name here) (0 s): Okay, then.

(insert name here) (0 s): ...

Opposer (0 s): I like MILK!

I can at least, handle that. But if it's this, I think it's unacceptable:

(insert name here) (0 s): ..........
(insert name here) (0 s): ...
(insert name here) (0 s): .
(insert name here) (0 s):................ ............... ........... .

That totally annoys me. I hated it on Yahoo! Chat (back when Timber and I "ruled" Room One together, along with Black Hearts) and I hate it here. But yet; with more and more spam bots, it seems to become more and more continuous.

Another Point in the Random Rant Mate Talk
Annoying, isn't it? I [again] recently saw someone in the Role Play box "crying" because s/he "didn't have a mate" (I was at my fiancee's and quickly left).

It seems that the harder we "fight" it, the more people go after and talk about it more.

Another: Theft
It's good we're doing more to prevent it, really. But in the same respects, people will take our art away from the site and put it on another, and get away with it. I mean, is there any way we can have "official spies" to check things like that out? I don't know, but art theft is getting old. I mean, I look on another website and someone has stolen a friend's art, or even mine, and people on that site do nothing about it, even if it has been reported.

Like on Myspace. "Tom" should get like, ban-stick mods (like we do here) to take care of that sort of thing. I mean, in art theft being stashed on his site, and they do not a thing about it, it gives him a bad look.

So, here's a random rant. Flame me, hate me, distaste. I don't care. I hold high my right to rant.

I agree with you 100%.

For the myspace thing, alot of members, one of them being Draco, are solely on myspace so they can stop art theft. They logg on and search for names.

Examples : Kiona or Achak.

Those two are NOT my characters! (Draco and Catwhohas14tails : I hope you don't mind me using them as examples.)

Anyway, I searched up for those names on myspace and found a "shet" load of stolen art...I'm going to report it when I have fifty links.

What? On the shout boxes? If that happens, you need to copy/paste their messages.

I didn't mean for it to be IN the shout box; that went generally to people who spam and "bots" that have been appearing on the forums/guestbook.

Another something I should stick in here:

SMS (in Cat's definition, Stupid Misuse of a Spoken Language)

This is extremely common. I tend to ask people to "watch the SMS, please", and some of them will jump a case on "ill do whtever i want!1" (at that point, I sigh [irl] and continue with my day, or ask them again and explain I'm trying to save them some trouble).

But; their excuse is "laziness" or "what's the point", or something like that. My next words of choice: "Use the education your parental unit(s) pay for."

Now, I don't mind the occasional "brb", "PM", "IM", "bbl", or "Ttyl". But things like this just "burns me":

Person (0 s): omg i went 2 this concrt + told k8 i wanted 2 go sk8ing.

Now, it hasn't gone that far yet, but close enough (that was an example).

But, isn't there anything we can do to slow all of this down, or, to at least get people to respect the rules a little more (though, I think I already know a possible answer to this question)?

I agree with all of this. Spam is pointless. Spamming won't get you anywhere apart from baned off the site. Art that is by someone else should be in credit for them. Rules are getting ignored. Do we have any shout/role play box mods. That would help.
