I've been wondering for quite some time if all that's been discussed here, ranted about: SMS, art theft, spam, mate talk etc. really has made people change their minds of how to behave on the forums and ShoutBox. I mean do these rants really help improve the "life" of every BS-er? Because I for one have not seen any improvements regarding SMS language or mate talk or RP fights and so on on this site.

Well sometimes they work but that's only when it's about mate talk because it's something the mods have in their control about spammers yeah that's handled too but about art theft and stuff like that can never be stopped because more people will keep doing it and hardly ever learn their lesson.So it depends on what it's about.

Sometimes there are things on which we can act to make things better, but most of the rant topics are about things that we can't really do anything about. (fanart stealing, SMS, etc...) Because these problems would need to make everyone change the way they act, and it's not possible, because the first thing is that not everyone come and read the topics in this section.

But the section isn't for making the others change their way of acting, this is to make you express all the things that you have on your mind, so that you get comfort from other people who feel the same way. And no, this isn't useless, because keeping things for yourself is never good.

Ummm trust me, he's the webmaster...He has no intention in copying you or your opinion. He just feels the same way about it has you do...

I think the rant board is used more to vent out your emotions and feelings with other members who are annoyed of the same thing.

I often agree with what the other visitors say...Nothing surprising into that. And no, I didn't copy your message, I only stated my opinion.

pfft, the one reason why these rants don't work is because these tools don't read them and learn from them.

The rants are an awesome idea, and should stay, but to morons who don't read them, they have about as much effect as bug spray on a moving truck.

I disagree. Things like SMS and mate talk or something else can be stopped, if the mods and others attempted to keep it down. But see, here is the thing... You tell someone to cut something out, as in an attempt to help out, then either A, a mod yells at you to stop being 'moddish' (although there are points where people are doing so), or B, the person tells you "Ur not a mod, so I wont listen 2 u. Bcuz ur not a mod!!11". Not kidding. Just the other day this kid told me this. And so I got a mod (which there isn't always one around) and she didn't even have to really say anything. He was like "Ok ok, c? Here is a mod. I will go 2 the sht box now." It really ticked me off frankly. If your not a mod, then you get NO respect. I just mentioned to read the topic line thing they had, and yes... So on and so forth. So either way I am in a loose loose situation.

Exactly. People act like they are doing something illegal on the roadway here. If you honk at them they get mad but if a police orders them to the side of the road they do so. Its exactly the same in my mind.
Us people who TRY to help keep the site clean of these problems get yelled at unless we are mods.

It's not so much that only those topics that are unhelpable aren't fixed, it's EVERY topic in this board. I, for one, haven't seen any of the valid points on here fixed.

LMAO! Next time someone askes me what SMS is, I'm giving them that for an answer. lol

And I do think that the rants are somewhat helping. But there are a lot of rule breakers, so it's not like we can stop them all in one sweep.

And I agree with Maya. I've even had some people that wouldn't listen to me when I told them no SMS or roleplays over two words because I wasn't a shoutbox mod. But if I'm there and a ShoutBox mod isn't, I'm going to help inforce the rules. People some members almost need a shorter leash. xD

SMS language has got to be the most annoying thing ever after ignorance... i really dislike it when people use it it drives me insane!
