I saw Balto over the weekend. I must say, I am in love with that film. It's awkward because I'm a 17 year old male lacrosse/football player who's very tough and fit (seriously I can bench 250 lbs). But it turns out I have a soft spot for the talking critters, go figure.
I like this movie cause it's innocent and fun. I don't really need to think. I just sit down and turn into that 6 year old. That's what Balto does to me.
But I also like Balto cause it really speaks to me. As Balto is half-wolf-half-dog, I'm the same. I have connections on the jock side of the school and the geeky side of the school. So for not completely conforming to the in-crowd, I'm outcasted somewhat. There's also a "Steele" character in my life as well. He's a cocky athlete and very good at what he does. He looks down on me socially and tries to pick a fight. My life almost matches the conflict in Balto, so this movie has a deep meaning for me.
FYI, I do have some friends. I'm not that of a complete loner.
