Actually, we do have our own ID. For instance, steet's ID is "1". I believe steet uses it in many of the PHP scripts here, with auto increment-many of the scripts wouldn't work if the ID sudenly dissappeared.
If you share the computer with another person with another account, their account will get banned if they misbehave. In special cases if you don't log out and they reek havoc, and you get banned, talk to the mods. But I believe you may be speaking of something more complex, such as an IP ban?
In that case, I believe you are talking about "ID"'s we could get banned by (IP's), except that if we have the same computer we have ID's attached to our IP's. What I mean to say is...Well, it's best explained in an example.
Quote:
I am Joe. My computer has two BS accounts, one called "Joe" for me and one "Josie" for my sister. Since we share our computer, we have the same IP which is 127.0.0.1.
She got in trouble, and the mods are thinking of an IP ban, but we have two accounts! So, my account should have an IP with ID of 1, and hers should have an IP with an ID of 2. That way the mods can ban 127.0.0.1:2 and not my sub-IP.
I don't believe this is what you meant, but just in the case that you actually did. They way you said your suggestion sort of gave me that idea.
If that is NOT what you mean, and you are just talking about ID (IP) bans, I believe steet said IP bans wouldn't work because AOL gives out the same IP to several people. Also, you can use other computers...there are endless problems.
This is becoming a long post so I'll wrap it up. If you actually mean our member ID, that is extremely useless because steet and mods can ban us by account name, which I suppose steet has already set to be identified by our ID's. Sorry if I confuse you.
P.S. My "ddd" key is extremely sensitive.
