I looked, and haven't seen a rant at all like this. And some people are gonna hate me for it, but this bothers me.

I remember, not sure where, that Steet had stated that he does not appreciate his backround being slautered on profiles. I do not know his thoughts on songs on the profiles, but I remember him saying this.

People have posted questions about it. I believe thats where I first saw Steet say it. I tell them "MySpace has its ups", because you can use codes from myspace to do things like this. But, I also mention how steet frowns upon it.

Now, with this in mind, you know what they do? They go ahead and kill the backround anyway. It looks so tacy when someone does this. I would post examples, but I do not want to point fingers at anyone. But I am getting rather tired of it. These backrounds just are... yuck with the rest of the layout.

I know it may not be a big deal, but I like to look at some peoples profiles. I don't like to when they go and put a backround in it that is horrible. It is annoying. The backround on BaltoSource isn't good enough for you people who wish to change it? You want to be unique? Well, try adding STUFF to it that doesn't change anything on BaltoSource. My profile is rather unique with out me changing anything about the site.

And songs. Those bother me too - when they pop out of no where and play as I am playing music. And then most of the time it wont stop unless I close out. Gah. Its annoying.

Steet does not appreciate it, I do not appreciate it. Who else is bothered by this?

It does bother me, music also bothers me.

Reasons yupik hates slaughered backgrounds and music on profiles:

Music:
1. Ruins the music you are currently listning too
2. the music could be annoying


Slaughtered profiles:

1. Most of the codes on the profiles are for myspeace and myspace only.
2. Loses track of there things are

They take away from the wonders of the site, yes. Its just like the rule about no animated avatars or siggys.

I agree - it is annoyng to see the pages stretched and stretched. Or profiles with endless pictures on them. I admit my profile has a lot in it, but its all like.. information and stuff. It has like.. two pics in it (that dont stretch the page)... like... 7 links... and some more about me. XD So yeah. ._. Its not like I have TONS of useless stuff in it. XP

The most annoying thing would be that members are using original artists' drawings to put on their profile and I've seen cases when they claim as their OWN.
That's the most desgusting thing in all this.
Well.. you can't force them.. because there isn't any rule which says "DO NOT USE PICS" or many pics.

Í also hate that are a lot of pivtures while loading, and there are also some censored or uncensored stuff.
We mods can't keep eyes everywhere, ya know.. like check each over 4000 members...
But I hope that we can find a debate !

I see where your getting at here Maya. Now, I don't remember you mentioning this, forgive me if you did, but don't you find piles of useless pictures annoying? A few pictures is fine yes, its nice to have a banner/picture sorta thing on your profile, but when people put hundreds of things of pictures and tiny animations over and over that the page becomes huge, is getting really annoying. Does anyone else find that irritating?

I have'nt seen any profiles with BGs or music (Thank goodness, I'd have gone mad!) but I've seen tons with seemingly endless amounts of random pictures and animations in them...WHY?
Ok, if you're gonna post a few lines about yourself, maybe a couple of examples of your artwork and/or graphics and a few picture links to your sites, fine, but I HATE all of the annoying, stupid pictures people have just got from google and thought 'i like that pic, i'll put it my profile', I don't care if that person likes that pic, it's annoying and often takes forever to load the page...I just feel sorry for those who have a slow speed internet connection.

I agree, I have broadband and still all those pictures sometimes take a very long to load (if I don't click out of the page) and if it takes that long for me how long would it take for those with a slow connection speed? Answer = a long time

I hate it when profiles have more than two pictures...What's the point anyway?*sigh* Hate the backgrounds...the background music...Hate people's profiles!XD

Well, I have music on my profile, and I removed the link, and now I can't get the music away... Help? xD Its totally phantom music. And maya you are so right. I totally agree. ;]

I agree it is very annoying. Just the other day I was reading someone's profile and suddenly this very loud annoying music popped up. It was so loud it made me jump and ruined the music I was listening to. I also hate it when people have hundreds of pics that is just random stuff they found on other sites. I just do not see the point.

I have pictures on my profile but only like two.I have some videos on it but I really find it annoyign when I person have like 999999999999 videos in there profile and when they have background music and it pops uo it always ruins what I'm listening too!I used to have music on my profile but it didn't work and i'm actually happy about that!
