Depression/Suicide threats

Everytime I come on there SB there is atleast one person complaining about their life, I understand that everybody has a bad day, right? But does everybody come on BS complaining about it? No, hopefully you find another (successful) way to deal with your problems.

I admit there are times when I come on and "sigh", but I would never threaten to kill myself. Why? Because I know that nobody really cares, and even if they did, would they be able to do anything about it? No, of course not. Most people live atleast 1000 miles away from me. I have told these people again and again that there is nothing we can do, but they either continue to complain and whine or say something like "Fine Outlaw, I'll just go and kill myself then".

What annoys me more then THAT, is when they (or their friends) actually push people away from helping them, saying stuff like "just leave me alone" or "there's nothing you can do about it". Well, no kidding! What do you expect us to do?!

I'm going to shut up now before I start an argument, now my question is, does this annoy anyone else? Is there anything that can be done about it?

Well, it see, it hasn't been much of a problem for me, but i don't see it.
I have seen people talk about it, but theres nothing we can do about it, unless the MODs make a rule about it, Baltorules!!!01 was banned for a suicide threat, as far as i know, there is no rule, one rule i would think would handle that would be 'keep this a kid friendly site, offesive content isn't allowed' Ect. but i don't think of it to be much of 'handling' it.

Should there be a rule? Hmm, i think banning wouldn't do the trick, as far i care, it doesn't matter, i don't bring my life problems of balto source, i don't have life problems anyways. Still, i don't know what we should do, it doesnt effect me. If it did, i'd say telling that person to stop, im sure they would listen, and for those people who DO care, i say let them talk to that person via Private Message.

Im not one to answer, let alone talk like this but its what i think.

Well, I don't have a problem with people who need to get stuff off their chest and tell Bsource friends about their problems. I don't mind when they rant about how sad they are because their lover dumped them or something like that. BUT, if they start talking about suicide, that's where I draw the line. This is a children's website, kids shouldn't really be hearing about self inflicted pain or death. It's too hard for them to understand and maybe even scary.

If members are feeling that down, they could take it to the Pms and talk alone to their close Bsource friends.

I never said there should be a rule, I think they should just get a warning about it instead. Baltorules!!01 was banned, but he still comes on with another username 'Sasko50210.' I have tried telling people to take it to PM's, but it seems they only listen to mods nowadays.

Yeah, like I said, I don't mind when people are sad as it happens to all of us, but when they come on constantly and flame other members because of it, well that's when it bugs me..

Agreed, if they flame people because of their sadness, they have no bisness here.

I see this almost ALL the time...it's annoying. And on the RP box, they CUT themselves and after a few minutes, they say, "Oh, that's better now that that's off my chest."

I don't even think they should stay to the PM's, 'cause no one really cares if they cut themselves and whine about how depressed they are...

Yeah, I've said that I was sad...ONCE. But these guys cross the line.

Especially when the same person does this over and over again. Its like"WE GET IT...." and whats even MORE annoying is when they ask to be banned because of their depression...its like why not just leave the site yourself? Is that too hard? Goes right along the lines with Cat's rant.

If you say you wanna leave....LEAVE. Instead of complaining about it. I'm totally sick of these people and you can tell they lie about their lives alot too. Saying ohh my family is dying from a disease or oh no im suffering from brain damage...and yet its ironic how they only complain about that for a little while. If its not one thing its another and I'm SICK SICK SICK of these boneheads<----(lack of better appropiate word lol)We all suffer from things in life beyond control. Face the facts people:You all will experience loss,death,and depression and you know what? This site isn't the place to complain about those things. If your in need of serious help talk to a psychiatrist,not a community of Balto fans......

I have told a few people that BaltoSource wasn't a site to discuss your problems, and even if the people on BS are their only friends, that doesn't mean that they can't talk to their parents, or their siblings.. It doesn't bug me much when they only do it once, but when the same person comes on CONSTANTLY and says they're going to kill themselves, well that's what annoys me..

Well, as long as it makes them happy then I really don't care if they talk on PM's or not..

Did I say they did? No, not even close. Someone said that she "doesn't know why they talk on PM's if noone cares" and I responded by saying I didn't care. Next time, atleast READ what I say first..

Anyways back on topic:

Just ignore them, it probably gets annyoing, but ignoring is the way to go, gith no one mad. :lol:

I find this (people who constantly say they will kill themselves) just as annoying as people who make a big deal out of leaving, and then coming back, or never leaving. Bah.

I say, if you're gonna kill yourself, just do it. ;] I have thought about it before, but it isn't likely that I will. So I never say "I am gonna kill myself", I just say things like "I *feel* like slitting my wrists" or something. Doesn't mean I will. And I never talk aoout it on the shout box. XD MySpace, maybe... but not the ShoutBox. Not even on BS. XD...

Those who are looking for pitty, get none. Thats what I do. ;]
