Have you ever been on here and noticed how some topics are suddenly revived by either a new perosn or the old one?Does it ever get on your nerves? Well for me its a HUGE pet peeve. I just don't get why you would need to hear the same opinions more than once. Hey, maybe you weren't around to post when the original was made but there's this wonderful thing called a back button. USE IT. I get whined at all the time for making comments on a topic like this, but you know what? If you followed the rules and created you own, unique topic I wouldn't nag at all! Its amazing. So....because of these things 've gotten called rude, whiny, and immature. I really don't see how someone elses fault is suddenly mine because I stated the fact their topic had been talked about before. The main point is people really don't follow rules here. I get sick of this. Why join a site if you cannot read the rules and use them? I just...don't get it. Obviously some people do not take my advice and get mad for saying it. I'm not trying to be a mod or anything of the sort. I'm being me. If you cannot take simple constructive critism than the forums are not the place for you. Enough said. PLEASE DO NOT SEND RUDE FLAMES ON THIS TOPIC. AFTER I JUST COMPLAINED ABOUT HOW MUCH I DESPISE THAT TYPE OF BEHAVIOR!follow our rules!

Like you said, if you don't like what somebody says, IGNORE them. It's pointless ranting about "rule breakers" if you don't follow the rules yourself.

There are "rule breakers" and there are "people who disagree with you." There is NO rule against disagreeing with other people, but there IS one against FLAMING people who disagree with you.

Mmmm. Yes. I agree with this very much. I did not see this topic, and if I really wanted to I could look. But for the most part, Law is right. Just IGNORE them, as you had said in "HrryNrmn"'s topic on... whatever it was. XD

I guess we become what we hate.

This can be somewhat annoying, but as long as it's not one sentenced post which brings nothing new to the topic, then I guess it's ok.

However, what really grinds my gears is people posting in old introduction topics from like a couple months ago or so. It's especially annoying when someone "welcomes" someone who's like twice as old as them.

You must understand that not everyone will agree with you. You are allowed to post your opinions, but so are they. and that is something you'll have to deal with - either you agree or not. If there is two topics about the same thing, the mods will deal with it - but clearly, there really isn't. As far as I could see.

If it's been talked about before, then I don't see how it would still be open if there was another topic floating around like that.

And there is many useless topics up here, yep. But if it's like.. just a big waste of time, stupid, kinda spam-ish... then I am sure it will be locked..

People will break the rules, because no site is perfect. Though, blowing up at the person isn't the way you do it. Talk to them more relaxed and calmly. Rolling your eyes, being quite rude about it isn't the way to go, unless you're looking for a fight.

If you don't like the topic, all I can say is ignore it. It'll most likely die soon, anyways. Though, I understand people here can be annoying, but who isn't?

This topic isnt about being immature. Its about people harping on you when you point out someones fault on this site. I'll be quite honest. I started this topic because of hrrynrmm's newest rant board topic. Just because I pointed out that there have been too many posts about wolves. ((By the way that doesn't mean I want to start flaming him. It just means I am very strongly thinking about what he said to me. I know this is kinda obvious but some people like to make Wrong judgements on what I say. So it becvomes nescessary to state this.))--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I also know people are not always gonna agree with me. I do not care if they disagree on one of my topics or something else. Its when I see a topic I have sworn I've seen like it before. Even if you do not see it isn't it better to ASK the mods if its already been made?I don't know.....I believe very well that alot of our fine community are not very good rule followers. I have more problerms with this site than even Myspace and thats sad. Reminder:This is the rant board so expect a heack alot of rants on this topic.

I can see where you're coming from on this.

You have sickened of "Wolf" topics, whilst *I* have began to tire of the entire site (which is why I send less and less art).

But what the 'free time away from the site' also allows is personal art improvement (my style has bettered). Also, as I pointed out in Hrrynrmm's (however you spell it) rant, that this is the internet. Not everyone will agree or disagree, and you will always be opposed.

Let alone, getting so attached to the site can cause you to lose touch with reality... Y'know? Take people in Yahoo! Chat Rooms (again) for example. They practically live to get onto the website and waste their lives away, all but the few who live outside of the little box in front of them (not meaning to insult anyone, but take it as you will).

But just remember this, my friend; that you have your own opinions and your own beliefs, don't let anyone flaw them, for they would then ruin a part of you. You have your own words, use them.

Thank you Kirada. You speak some natural sense. You weren't entirely agreeing with me but you weren't totally opposing me either. Its not really the wolf topics its all these ones like when there were four Happy feet topics and all the other ones we get. I just do not know if they really TRY tothink of something or just wanna post. -___-;; And yes I normally spend my time on Youtube. It gives me time away from the rest of the internet without leaving it. ^__^

Actually, I agree with you more than you know.

People are rude to others, and expect the rudee ('victim') to be all happy and polite in return. There is one word I use to describe these people, and that is frankly, they are naive. Or shallow. Whichever works better.

Yes, I have terrific friends online, and only one in real life. Does that mean that I have lost touch with reality? Uhm, no, not really. It just means that I like to make friends. I have people who are such good friends that they're like family (Tamaska-LONER, Spirit the Cat, Better!!!, ReyJak, iceshadow, blackearth, and so on). There's nothing wrong with that, if you ask me, because it means you've found someone across the country/world that you have something in common with (I talk to iceshadow on the phone a lot, while having Emperor Scorpions stuffed in my face).

YouTube actually doesn't have an interavtive something-or-other like Yahoo!, Myspace, and Vampire Freaks. Thus, you can actually still be a person and live outside of that little box I mentioned earlier (computers, for you people who space out frequently like I do :D).

Yes, I have gotten into arguments on the computer and they bugged me for days, and I had to force myself to sleep. I was so upset, because most of these arguments were originated around "me being a theif" when in fact, I am not. Like with my "Stolen Chatacter?" topic, "Copyright Infringment" (which was locked because it was 'annoying' >__>).

There are some people, though, who put the whole axis of their life to online bull. Like those who are "OMG you ticked me off!!!11 I am going to put this on my blog!" when it was a mere comment like "Please, go away so I can go about my day." or those who threaten to hack someone's computer JUST to be happy for a moment when they leave the chat room(s). I really do get annoyed at people like that, but I be polite to them to prove that I, in fact, do not want trouble. But there are those days when I'm not in the mood for such nonsense. -_-

Misjudgment, however, is very common. People will say "You're Gothic, you worship Satan, I hate you." THAT has happened to me so much. I don't wear all black, I'm Atheist (no Satan, no 'God'), and I'm not always mean. See how simple words can cause a series of problems? Let alone, I tend to be belligerant and speak out against someone (if I feel up to it that day XD) when I must/want to. I guess it all depends on the topic, with me.

Now before this gets too long and I start to bore you (if I haven't already), I will stop.

[EDIT]
Ok, I haven't read all the replies so I don't know specifically what this reply was about, but I agree with it.

I have to agree with that, mainly because people say I'm satanic and I will go to hell. Newsflash-I don't beleive in Satan because I'm atheist! And I don't beleive in hell!

Sorry, I know that qoute was out of context or something...But I just had to reply to that.
[/EDIT]

I remember this being discussed a while ago...

What I really hate is not people who bring the topic up (because they usually add something to the conversation) but people who remake a similar topic, because it discusses the same thing and restarts a whole debate.

It's basically the same thing, because both ways it can revive old flame wars and start topics that have been solved SEVERAL times.

I have never seen a very controversial or already solved topic brought up again. Infact, I would like unsolved ones to be brought up because we forget about that problem.

But I have seen old topics recreated, just for the sake of the author prentending to create their own original and cool idea.

The only thing I can see happening is a strict rule, an age-cutoff (though this is a really bad idea), our the mods just pwning the topic-bringer-upper-people XD

P.S. I wasn't talking about the author of this (particularly because this is still a valid point and is a recurring problem), and I didn't mean ALL topics like the ones described.

Well I appreciate the fact you actually this topic and you don't bore me. You are stating some pretty bold facts and opinions. I like that. I really wouldn't mind if there were multiple posts about things if people put more words and ideas into them. I just think its boring to see people reply the same way to a topic again. Whats the valid purpose? Is your topic really that important that it has tobe heard again? Even if before the person wasn't you? I realize we all have our faults and I do not expect perfection from anyone. I do however expect people to take my constructive critism in a reasonable, understanding, well thought out manner.

Not really the revived topics, but revived intros by people who have been there less than the people who wrote it. It's like "Um...okay?"

Actually, I [kind of] disagree here. True, there are similar topics, but each one has a different prospective of the issue(s) listed.

For example; someone posts about zero respect. Then another person posts about zero respect, a suspected reason/cause, and what they think should be done about the issue(s).

So you see, everyone may add-on/take off points in a topic. Actually, this is one of my favorites right now because I was too lazy to speak up about it myself (go figure XD). Though, it does help if they put something like:

Similar topic/Reference topic: (link).

And yes, this gets very annoying. But as I pointed out [somewhere], if there are no complications in life, then why would there be any reason to live? You would not learn from mitakes, and everything would be 'perfect' (define "perfect").

All right, I see your point now, and I totally agree.

I think the reason behind it is, no one bothers to make sure that there aren't any other topics that are exactly the same as theirs; and then they get so upset when someone says "Uhhmmm.... This topic is too common and there are already some on this. >.>"
