While I was channel surfing, I saw a commercial in which some guy claimed that he can communicate with wolves and is actually part of a pack. It looks like it is more for entertainment than educational, but sounds like something to look into if u are intersted in wolf behavior. It airs on April 16 on the National Geograghic channel. What time? All I know that it is somewhere in the evening. Something I found worth mentioning. That is all.

I saw that commercial.
If it is real, it could cause some controversy.
What if one of the wolves decide they want to challenge him for his pack position and in doing so, kill him? That's exactly what farmers and ranchers have been waiting for; a recorded case of a wolf killing a human. The perfect excuse to get out their guns and start hunting them unmercifully.
Then again, it could be just for entertainment purposes; perhaps to lift the bad rap given to the wolf. I hope that's all it is...

I watched a documentry on wolves on Animal Planet... actually it may have been National Geo. Anyway, I recorded it on DVD. It's pretty good, especially when the keepers of a wolf park howl with the wolves.

The guy was'nt from North Devon was he?
If he was then I know him!! There's a guy at a wildlife park I go to who lives with the wolves (sometimes). He's called Shaun and he can play with three fully grown wolves, Tamaska, Yana and Matsi and none of them have ever been nasty to him and if they ever did he'd probably get out of it cause he's a wolf behaviourist and kinda knows what they're thinking.

No, no. The guy we're tallking about actually lives with a wild pack and eats carrion with them. He's obviously not familiar with the term 'salmonella'.

Haha, obviously not. The guy I know does'nt do that, just sleeps with them sometimes and just generally enjoys spending time with them....Tamaska is scared of storms and when there is a storm Shaun sits in the enclosure with Tamaska on his lap until the storm is over.

Lives with feral wolves, huh? Sounds like he's pretty hardcore. He better watch himself though, I remember some guy who thought he knew what bears were thinking. Then they killed him and his wife and ate them.
As to the wildlife park dude, I think there's a place near to where I live called Wolf Park (an apt if not very imaginative name) where the keepers can closely associate (i.e. 'play' with them etc.) with the wolves. I think that's how it works anyway, it seems so from what I read on the website.

To anyone who is still interested, the show is called A Man Amoung Wolves, and it airs on 9pm (6pm for satellite users). It looks like the aim for this documentury is to educate and conservate, not to withhold an uprising and/or mass geoside on the wolf spieces . It's different, and it might creep some people out. I wonder what will happen .
