Ok, when ever Disney made an animated movie, more than likely it had a sequal (Bambi- Bambi 2, Cinderella- Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True, ect.) Well, the thing is, most of them aren't even sequals! They are more prequals (backround info to untouched sequences in a movie, EX- Bambi- Bambi's mother died, and The Great Prince takes him, and in the next scene, Bambi is grown up.) Not ALL movies are like this, EX- Lion King 2 follows the Lion King (although The Lion King 3 IS a prequal) The only movie that I have seen that does not have a prequal is Aladdin (its two movies later on were in presant time (following the events in Aladdin))

Uh...movies like Bambi 2 are called "midquels" which elaborate on events that happened in between long periods of time throughout one or more movies. They're not exactly sequels, dispite that they have numbers after 1 in their title.

As Cat said movies like Bambi 2 and TLK 1.5 are technicly midquels, not prequels. However it is true that the quality is not up to par with the original, but mind that this is because the budget is vastly lower than the original movies.

Most people, such as yourself AlueKiara, hate these sequals/midquels/prequels (whatever you like to call them), but I dunno...I think they're ok...

I don't HATE them, I just find most of them not up to standards.

In fairness most sequels/midquels/prequels are'nt as good as the original, it's very rare to find a movie series where the sequels were better than the original and I kinda like the midquels and prequels coz it tells you a part of the story that otherwise would've been forgotten (take the part in Bambi after his mother died as an example) and how many Lion King fans want a prequel about Mufasa and Scars child/cubhood?

Not al sequels are that bad. Take Simba's Pride for example.
Some hardcore Disney fans started this petition saying 'Stop Disney Cheapquels' and they expect these sequels to live up to the originals, which is impossible.
If you expect a sequel to live up to the original, you are going to be disappointed. It's probably the reason why so many people hate Wolf Quest, because their standards are simply too high.

Depends on the movie, I loved ADGTH 2 (Killer's absence was a bummer, though). Toy Story 2 and Balto 3 were pretty good as well. However, I thought Balto 2 was kinda "meh". I just wish Nikki, Kaltag and Star return. They're so much funnier than Muk & Luk.........
