I'm surprised out of all the people here who like them on here no one has made a topic of them in the longest time. I think these dogs are amazing. :D I mean they can do frisbee catching and many other tricks without ever being trained. They shock and amaze me. My stepuncle owns two. A boy named raider after the Raiders football team and a girl name reckless. They are both black and white and both just so sweet. Raider has such light blue eyes they almost look silver and reckless has brown eyes. Reckless is a bit smaller and scrawnier than Raider but she is 4 and he is 8 so it makes since. Anyways what do you think of these dogs? Aren't they amazing? Most of them have non-stop energy. I just love these dogs.If you have no idea what this dog looks like just look at my signature and icon XDf

I love Border collies! Well you can tell that by reading my name!
I own a lovely Border collie called Sheena and I think there great dogs and so if I was to get another dog in the future I would always get a collie as I love them so much. Im glad I've met someone who loves collies as much as me. :)

The Border collie in your pic, was that Max? Very sweet dogs. In fact, the Border Collie looks very similar to mine.

Archie is in my avatar. He's a Border collie cross. Still not entirely sure what crossed with. Although he looks a lot like a border collie he certainly doesn't have the intelligence of one. I hate watching Crufts when you see all those amazing flyball collies and the ones in the obediance classes and that but Archie isn't really that... well... smart. He likes fetching toys but in his own time xD

I hope to take him to Agility Classes in the summer. Just for fun as he isn't that young. About six or seven, we hazard a guess.

Did I hear.. Border Collie?

YES!

And I HATE when people buy them, without doing research. Annoys me so bad! Their not your every-day dogs, and I love them. I did much research on them, and I plan on getting one one day.

Hey, colliegirl, is your dog a punk rocker (sorry to all those who don't get that reference, it was just too easy). I like Border Collies as well, my grandma has an Australian Shepherd Dog (we think that's what it is, although it looks Border Collie-ish to me) which I suppose are rather similar. Her name is Lady, and she is sweeter than aspartame (that's pretty sweet, for those who don't know). She like nothing better than to be near people and be petted and stuff. I swear, if you're nearby, she wants to be right next to you.

Ya actually my uncle told me that Austrailian sheperds are the closest cousins to collies so thats why they look so much alike

I used to have one named Trooper, but he ran off and probably got run over since we live near some busy roads. I don't have a good picture of him now since the only picture of him is in my locker at school, I'll bring it home and scan it on soon.

Well, no.

They are smart, most. But that depends.

I know a Border collie, whom is sooo dumb. :P Many, really. Also - because many are smart, is the reason why they end up in shelters many times, because many are.. well.. stuborn. "I know what you want me to do, but I don't want too right now." Lol, I know many BCs that are like that.

Truly, that is no 'smartest' or 'most easy learning dog' breed. It all depends on the dog.

I think that German Shepherds are the most intelligent.. I might be wrong.

Archie sounds similar to the collie that you know, Wolfdog.
