Well, I was read fairy-tales but I never really stereo-typed wolves as being particularly scary. They were always just big dogs to me and I can't say I took much interest in them until I was about eleven/twelve.

Well, Lord Lion, that happens to be your particular opinion. I for one, don't think that fairy tales are dumb or stupid. So maybe you'd like to be a bit more courteous when you're speaking. Keep in mind that what you believe to be dumb or stupid may be, to someone else, something that is enjoyable and intelligent.
To speak to the "big, bad wolf" idea, no I never believed that it was "real", although I can see how some impressionable children might be afraid of it, ala the boogeyman.

Well, excuse muah! That was just my opinion. But there are some of them out there that people like.

You really don't need to post on things only to say that they are stupid. It's very rude and frankly, it's unnecessary. And, if you are "tired" of all the wolves posts, by all means take your things and leave. Please, don't let us keep you, I wouldn't want to be the cause of boredom to anyone.

Quote: ....why Balto source HAS to have so many topics related to wolves.
Don't forget - Balto is a movie that has wolves in it, and Balto IS a wolfdog. Many people here like wolves, and want to talk about their favorite animal or animal they like.
-----
Personally, I never thought wolves of 'Big Bad Wolves'. I wasn't raised that way, and well - Yeah.

Hmm. I think it could be possible.
There is bad everywhere, there is no way to escape it. But also; there is a reason behind actions. Maybe the "big, bad wolves" react out of fear rather than just attacking to attack?
We may, however, never know. Because we can't just walk up to an aggressive animal and be like "Hey. Why are you all liek, mean like this?" Y'know?
I guess this is an ethical/opinionation topic, rather than "Do you think they exist". Everyone (?_?) [should] knows that there is bad in every aspect of life.
If it were all good, is there really a point in living?

Its not that....its a rule on this site not to revive old topics or anything of the sort. When all has been said theres really nothing else for us to say is there. Oh and THANKS for making a topic on the rant board based on this. Sometimes I wonder if you just try to makeme annoyed with you,HrryNrmm. If you don't like what I SAY you certainly may ignore my posts.

Yeah, I used to believe wolves were 'big and bad'. I don't anymore, though. I was gullible as a young child, and I still am, so you can't really blame me for believing it. All those stories were told, and I believed it, but the only thing that matters is the opinion I have now: That most wolves aren't bad. I mean, you'll come across the bad one every now and again, but I mean [like Kirada said] everything has bad in it. Jerome Shepherd wrote: And why can't they write stories about bad Cheetas, or mean grizzly bears, or Wolverens, and other wild cats, such as lions (My least favorite animal) its them that deserve to be bad. I don't agree with this statement for this reason: You're saying that it's unfair for wolves to be labeled as 'bad'. Wouldn't it be as equally unfair for Cheetahs, Grizzlies, Wolverines, large cats, Lions [etc...] to be labeled as 'bad' as well? I think so. Just because one of them might be your least favorite animal doesn't mean you should be going around and saying that they're the ones that should be the bad one in a book. Nothing deserves to be bad when they haven't done anything wrong. If I came off as rude, I'm sorry, I just needed to try to get a point across ;]

Wolves have always just been big, wild dogs to me; and they still are (unless you have one as a pet; then it's just a big dog). I find it unfair to sterotype any animal; especially an animal that's just a wild variety of your own house dog. Wolves are naturally shy animals who don't like confrontation. Any attacks on humans was done by a rabid wolf; not a healthy one. They didn't realize this back in the 'fairy-tale' days, and instead labled the wolf as a killer in children's stories.
But, even though we know now that this is not true; that wolf attacks were the result of an infected animal; we STILL like to make wolves evil. Here's an example: A person who keeps a wolf chained in their backyard beats and starves the animals. The person goes on with his daily beating schedual and lives his life uninterrupted; but when the wolf finally bites it's cruel owner in self-defense, the WOLF gets the blame.
"it's a wild animal that shouldn't be kept as a pet!"
Here's a secret; maybe if the wolf was raised in a happy, abuse-free enviornment, it would've turned out to be a safe, loving companion animal...
It's like a playground: bullies pick on the smaller, weaker kids. Humans are the bullies picking on the wolf...but let the wolf attempt to defend itself and suddenly it's a "dangerous blood-thristy beast".
Believe it or not; those fairy-tales really do leave an everlasting impression on the ever-impressionable human.
