O Jack... I never had any problems with the morrowind combat system.
And at all i prefer Morrowind 1000000 times compared to oblivion.
Oblivion is nothing more than an average middleage world, like in many other games. The whole terrain was generated by the Editor itself, and only a few things were made by real level designers.
EVERY tree, Every house, every door was placed by a leveldesigner in Morrowind. They created a real fantasy world, and not just a average middleage world.
The combat system was developed by an old Morrowind player, who made a compareable combatsystem for morrowind. He was hired by them for Oblivion.
The graphic: Okay. That's the ONLY point where i say: this game is better than morrowind, but a well patched Morrowind can stand next to oblivion without any losses.
I prefer Morrowind with its expansions and say that these games are the best RPGs EVER.
Oblivion was just made for money. Otherwise they would've made better terrains and so on. For example the the forrests look all the same... no matter where you are in Oblivion. The next thing is that the 'fast travel-button" destroyed the hugeness of the game. Additionally it is the most unlogical thing. I mean: hey in Morrowind you had to go to a slicksrider... and suddenly in Oblivion you can stand there, and BLOOP you are in an other town.
To me Oblivion was just a huge waste of money... I really hoped they would've made a good sequel of the once glory Elder Scrolls series...

Swinging and missing annoyed me...especially when you know you should have hit them.
Reason everything was premade...it saves soooo much space on a disk when you such a pituresque world.

That's why you should use "combat enhanced" it allows you to do sereval combatmoves.
I rarely miss enemies with my longsword.
I think it wouldnt matter if you have to use 7 GB instead of 4 if you get a better game. I know games that need ober 20 GB space. I think every computer which is able to run that game has even 3 more GB HD space aviable. Or The DVD: Then you put one more in there. There is no problem. (the money question: that would've been better than releasing it with this terrain. The game began to be boring so fast... always the same forrests.. etc)
An other thing is that it wouldn't need much more space to make a better terrain: All you need are maybe 500 models, wich are ca. 1 - 1.5 mb big.
The rest isn't very big.
And I can't help.. but the people in Oblivion look like "plate-faces". Many of them have the same shapes, just with some other textures on it...

Ummm PC mods...something thats a little more difficult to do when you have the console version.
Worst part about Morrowind...it can be beaten in I believe 7 minutes.....

This isn't beating the game, this is just fooling around.
Beating the game is playing the story, and not cheating like that guy.
@MaiMai: There is a multiplayer mod for Morrowind... but i have no idea how it works...
It is a scipt extendet, which duplicates every npc in the game, so that 2 ppl can complete the game.

I agree with Fox on the whole comparing thing. Personnally, I prefer Morrowind mainly because it doesn't lag as bad as Oblivion. (I have Morrowind for Xbox and Oblivion for PC)

So you're blaming the game for the lag on your computer..which is not the games fault?

Good point.
Then again, Morrowind had cool plant and animal names. When I switched to Oblivion, I actually had to learn what things are called in the real world. Yeah, I'm obsessed.

I prefer Oblivion over Morrowind greatly. As if the game wasn't long enough, the downloads from XBOX live make it even longer.
