I'm pretty sure most of you have heard about the pet food recalls. So far, 241 pets have died of liver damage due to canned food from Canada, and thousands more are expected to perish.

I'm curious, has anyone here lost their pets to this? And for those of you who are unaware of this: I suggest you feed your pets dry food for a while...

lol, I've heard this 1000 times. Thanks for the info, though.

Somebody who lives around me lost their cat recently, and they believe it was because of this.

I'm glad I don't feed any of my pets these brands.

I found a list, but I don't remember where it was, but luckily my Dog's food isn't on there.

That's where you can find all the information about the recall, and it also shows what foods were recalled.

Yes it's only canned and pouched dog/cat food.

They believe it's the 'Chunks N Gravy' mostly, and I heard on the internet that studies showed traces of rat poisening in the food. Whether that's true or not I don't know, but I guess we'll find out sooner or later.

Oh my gosh. I hate when that happens. It's probably a bactiria(sp?) problem. Do you mind naming the brands so I can stay away from them? I feed my cat Iams (for fat cats XD) and my kitten Iams Kitten chow.

I heard about that stuff. We fed my dog some of that stuff, but she's still acting normal. Also, my neighbor has a dog that is having kidney failure and they think it's from the food. They may have to put her down

I have a cat that was eating that food. He threw up... but he's fine now. The vet checked him out.

The food was said to be contaminated by rat poison.

My mom had told me that on the news they said the most likely reason why this happened is because the makers of the differnt foods switched where they got an ingredient. Pretty dumb if you ask me.

I hope the company has to pay for all the vet bills. It's their fault that it's happening.

But it's only the wet food. The dry food is okay.
