Now, I think this is the best time to collect your opinions about fast food and its effects to the world, so I'd be glad if this survey will attract your attentions. Enough 'bout that, let's get to business:
1/ Do you often eat fast food? What is your favourite fast food?
2/ Do you think fast food is bad for you? Do you try to avoid eating too much? If you have children, do you restrict how much they are allowed to eat?
3/ Do you think fast food chains have a responsibility to make their products healthy and non-fattening, and to advertise them honestly, or do you think it is our responsibility as consumers to decide whether to eat them or not?
Sorry if the questions are long 'cause I'm the mood for some writings now

My favorite fast food? Probably either Taco Bell or Arby's. That said, I don't eat fast food much at all, probably less than once a month.
Is it bad for me? Of course it is, any nitwit knows that. I also don't think that someone should be able to sue McDonald's because they ate too many Big Macs and got fat. McDonald's provides food, it's up to the consumer to recognize if that food is something they want to be putting in their bodies or not. I'm big on personal responsibility: if you ate too much McDonald's and had a heart attack, that's your own darn fault. If your 13 year old kid weighs 220 lbs and is unhappy and fat cause you, as a parent, plunked them down in front of a happy meal 4 times a week, well, that's the parent's fault, not McDonald's.

Yes, I agree with ya, they just sell the food, we're fat 'cause of the way we use it, there've been lots of debates 'bout this and personally I think it's the consumers' faults, some are smart but cannot resist the taste and some are not very smart. One time, a man was obese because he'd seen an advertisement 'bout fast food and when they said that it was 100% beef, he thought that it was good so he ate it a lot. So what did he get? He's now a diebetic with high blood pressure , some people said the it was the hype that had caused him to gobbled burgers and salty fries untill his first heart attack in 1996. So maybe it's also the fast food company's fault and the comsumers' ,too.

Nah, I place the blame square on the consumer. I bet it IS 100% beef. That still doesn't mean that it's good for you! Nothing like a healthy dose of red meat, take that, heart! take that, colon! Still, meat is enjoyable, one just needs to eat it in moderation.

1/ Do you often eat fast food? What is your favourite fast food?
No, once every couple months I have a peice of pizza or some fries from McDonalds, but that's it. I only really like Subway, because I don't feel so guilty about eating it.
2/ Do you think fast food is bad for you? Do you try to avoid eating too much? If you have children, do you restrict how much they are allowed to eat?
Of course it's bad for us.. and yes I try to keep myself from eating too much, one time I had McDonalds 3 days in a row (Not for all 3 meals, just fries and chicken nuggets) and I got so sick that I couldn't even walk.. I don't know why. I don't have any kids, but my mom limits us on junk food.
3/ Do you think fast food chains have a responsibility to make their products healthy and non-fattening, and to advertise them honestly, or do you think it is our responsibility as consumers to decide whether to eat them or not?
No, because I think that everybody knows that McDonalds and Burger King (along with any other fast food place) is unhealthy for them, and if they choose to eat it until they're 400 pounds then that's totally their fault, it's not McDonalds' job to limit what the people eat and they shouldn't even try to sue them for it. If your 14 and 'didn't know' that it was unhealthy, then your parents would have told you.
There's people across the street from me that eat fast food (Mcdonalds, Subway, A&W, Taco Bell, KFC and so on) EVERY single day, I'm NOT kidding, I see them coming home with it, and when I don't, they order pizza. It's kind of pathetic, the mom is already 400+ pounds along with the 18 year old daughter, the 11 year old eats a footlong sub to herself.. I can't even eat that much. (Sorry I just had to mention this..XD)
The burgers are made of 100% beef, the health departments are very strict about that stuff, but it's how they cook them, they use alot of oil, salt and mayo (which has TONS of fat). There was a rumor that they used 'meal worms' instead of meat, but that's not true because meal worms cost more then real beef does.

1/ Do you often eat fast food? What is your favourite fast food?
No. I only eat fast food when I go out with my friends and even then, fast food is the very, very, very last resort. My favourite fast food? Well, if Pizza Hut is regarded as a fast food place, then that.
2/ Do you think fast food is bad for you? Do you try to avoid eating too much? If you have children, do you restrict how much they are allowed to eat?
Yes. Yes. And, I don't have children but if/when I do, they'll be restricted.
3/ Do you think fast food chains have a responsibility to make their products healthy and non-fattening, and to advertise them honestly, or do you think it is our responsibility as consumers to decide whether to eat them or not?
I agree with both really, we, as consumers have the right and the morality to choose between eating McDonalds or a fresh home-made sandwich for lunch. However, the majority of fast food places are really only in it for the money, so they don't honestly care about the quality of their food.

1. Taco Bell, Taco Time, Baja Fresh, Wendy's, Jack in the Box, Popeyes and a few others.
2. Not if eaten once in a while, but if it's an everyday thing, it is. I try to avoid eating fast food. Third part of this question is unanswered, since I have no children.
3. As much responsibility as people who eat there have.

It's not really bad for you unless you eat it all day everyday.
If you have it once or twice a month it wont do any damage.

1/ Do you often eat fast food? What is your favourite fast food?
I don't usually eat fast food. We sometimes go to MacDonalds or Burger King but that is it.
2/ Do you think fast food is bad for you? Do you try to avoid eating too much? If you have children, do you restrict how much they are allowed to eat?
I try to avoid eating it too much. The problem is, after eating it, it takes around 20 minutes for your stomach to realise it is full, so you still feel hungry, and might buy another burger. After finishing, you feel stuffed. Luckily, I've never done that.
3/ Do you think fast food chains have a responsibility to make their products healthy and non-fattening, and to advertise them honestly, or do you think it is our responsibility as consumers to decide whether to eat them or not?
Hmmm, I'd say half and half. I mean, sure the adverts ask you to eat fast food, but they don't ask you to eat it everyday, so sueing them for making you fat is a waste of time.
However, sometimes, MacDonalds tries to make itself look as healthy as possible, which I believe is boarderlining false advertising. As a previous poster said, when they say it is 100% beef, they try make it sound like it is healthy. It's not really the meat that is bad for you, it is the stuff it is fried in, as well as the sauces and toppings and whatnot.

I like the taste of a good burger from time to time... so... yeah... however - what I'd NEVER eat, that are "supersized" menus in such restaurants. I usually take the smallest available menu, the smallest European menu, actually, which don't even exist in the US. triken49 wrote: 2/ Do you think fast food is bad for you? Do you try to avoid eating too much? If you have children, do you restrict how much they are allowed to eat? Is fast food bad for man? Honestly... it isn't the healthiest food you can get. But it doesn't matter if you only eat it from time to time. Any culture and nation has food that tastes great but shouldn't be eaten excessively... well... anything we do or eat excessively is bad for us at the end. My great grandfather once told me a wise sentence, which I follow through my entire life: "Take of everything a little, and of nothing too much." Of course, by the knowledge of biology and biochemistry I have, I teach my nephew what he should eat, how he should eat it and... what he shouldn't eat at all, same as I set him restrictions on such modern eating habits when he's on tour with me. triken49 wrote: 3/ Do you think fast food chains have a responsibility to make their products healthy and non-fattening, and to advertise them honestly, or do you think it is our responsibility as consumers to decide whether to eat them or not?
I don't really think that they have to take the responsibility for making "fat" food. Everyone has to know him-/her-self WHAT he/she should eat, and everyone should be strong enough to resist if it gets out of bounds. However... what these chains are responsible for - that's that they shouldn't intentionally create addicting food, same as they shouldn't advertise it with comic or clown heroes to kids... which is... sadly... the most common practice these days.

I don't like fast food, I only eat it if I'm traveling and I have too. Um... I really don't like any so I don't have a favorite.
2/ Do you think fast food is bad for you? Do you try to avoid eating too much? If you have children, do you restrict how much they are allowed to eat?
I DO think it is bad for you.... I do avoid it as much as possible. I don't have kids but I take care of my sisters, and I do restrict the amount of fast food thay eat. I usually cook home made meals for them.
3/ Do you think fast food chains have a responsibility to make their products healthy and non-fattening, and to advertise them honestly, or do you think it is our responsibility as consumers to decide whether to eat them or not?
No I don't really think it's the fast food chains responsibility, the people that buy it just need to have a little self control.

1/ Do you often eat fast food? What is your favourite fast food?
Yes at times of course. I don't think I've ever heard of a child that has not.I've got to say I like McDonalds. There is something addicting in their recipies! But of course theirs others I like such as ( I don't know if you know it ) Harveys (its Canadian).
2/ Do you think fast food is bad for you? Do you try to avoid eating too much? If you have children, do you restrict how much they are allowed to eat?
Of course I think its bad for you. If you've ever seen the documentary Super Size Me then you'll agree. Its about a man who eats nothing but McDonalds for I forget maybe a month or so. He has it for every meal every day. On the second day they started he throws up and he gains like so many pounds. Its disgusting but so true.
3/ Do you think fast food chains have a responsibility to make their products healthy and non-fattening, and to advertise them honestly, or do you think it is our responsibility as consumers to decide whether to eat them or not?
I think its consumers responsibility. I mean sure they show off how good it looks but its our job as human beings to have self control. You have to set limits and goals. Lets say you wanted to get a higher grade in Math or something? Once you get it treat yourself to a fast food meal. If you don't get it keep trying and try a healthy home made meal. Try whole wheat pasta. Its pretty good for you and it tastes good. There is many alternitaves(sp?) to eating fast fattening food. We just need to understand and rely on ourself to make the right desision and not blame it on the fast food companies.

Quote: 1/ Do you often eat fast food? What is your favourite fast food? Well..I used to eat some fast food, but since I became a vegitarian I haven't eaten that much. Sometimes I go to In and Out and get "Grilled cheese" (which pretty much a burger without the meat) whenever I go there with my family. Quote: 2/ Do you think fast food is bad for you? Do you try to avoid eating too much? If you have children, do you restrict how much they are allowed to eat? Well, I do believe it's bad for you. If I've learned anything from "Supersize Me" and Chemistry class, then it's horrible for you...what with all those trans fats. Quote: 3/ Do you think fast food chains have a responsibility to make their products healthy and non-fattening, and to advertise them honestly, or do you think it is our responsibility as consumers to decide whether to eat them or not?
I believe that fast food chains should try and make their food healthy, though that is almost impossible because they make so much money alreay. I also, however, believe that some responsiblity lies in the consumers. I mean, McDonalds isn't kidnapping you and forcing you to eat their food. We aren't mindless robots, we do have free will the last I checked.

1/ Do you often eat fast food? What is your favourite fast food?
I eat it about once ever month, my fav would have to McDonalds
2/ Do you think fast food is bad for you? Do you try to avoid eating too much? If you have children, do you restrict how much they are allowed to eat?
I know fast food is bad for me (all those tv adds, movies, news reports) that why I try to eat as less of it as possible, when ever I do have it, its more of a treat.
3/ Do you think fast food chains have a responsibility to make their products healthy and non-fattening, and to advertise them honestly, or do you think it is our responsibility as consumers to decide whether to eat them or not?
I'm a strong believer in consumer responsibility, the way i see is the fast food companys doesn't make you eat it, you're the one who decides you will.
