Need tips on shading!

Okay, so here's the deal. This is how I shade now:

I've been trying to find a good way to shade, but right now i just use darker and lighter shades of the base colors. Could anyone who uses Photoshop give some suggestions as to how to SHADE??

Well, RainFeather, I admire your shading in drawing so therefore I myself cannot critique. Lol, But you could try gradient shading. (see Greah Lit's topic) and you could also try cell shading, which is sort of what you are doing. X3 Check out these shading tutorials on dA, that's how I get my help. Aw, no problem at all ^^ You should post some pics that you tried the shading with when you finishe them, If you don't mind though. Im always curiouse to see your pictures :wink:
