I have noticed something that really just annoys me. It's all the complaigning and whining and (B-word)ing that's going on with new members.

Now, I understand that not all the new members do this, and yes, some of the more "mature" one do aswell, but this rant is just a general statement. (did that sound as good as it did in my head? :? )

Anyway, let's say that Member A makes a topic, and it gets closed rather quickly, maybe after two or three posts. So they start to whine and complaign about their topic being locked, not even considering they may have broken a forum rule; which they probably didn't know because they didn't read them in the first place. (run-on sentence much? lol)

This is the worst kind; when a newbie member doesn't get their way, they start to post their frustration on other topic and the shoutbox, not to mention PM a mod constantly.(which they've done to me on another forum where I'm a mod.)

These kinds of actions aren't just limited to newbies, but older members too. I can name a few members (but I won't) that have done this once or twice.

Basically, if you are a member new or old, and you aren't happy with something on the forum, send one post to a mod if it's urgent. If not, live with it. Things aren't going to get any better if you pester.

I'm done, now I'm going to work. Ho-hum. XD

lol.. I agree with you, the most annoying part is when they make 100 more topics titled 'WHY DID MY TOPIC GET LOCKED ' which happens rare, but it still happens.

I haven't seen an older member do this yet.. but people do this on the shout box also..

I hate whinney people in general. Yes, I tend to whine sometimes - but I'll drop it soon and get on with my life. But man, some of these newbies....

"THEY LOCKED MY TOPIC! I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY! IT WAS A GOOD TOPIC!"... Blah blah blah.

Or when they get banned off the forums or something...

"WHY WAS I BANNED! I DIDNT DO ANYTHING WRONG!!!!!!"... Yeah, sure. So they just banned you because they hate you? "YESSS!"... ._. Wow. XD

Yeah. Get that a lot. Its annoying....

I agree.

They must accept that the mods must have locked it for a reason, I doubt that they would lock it for no reason.

And the reasons why they locked it might be it was useless and or offensive to other members.

But for some reason the new members have to complain and argue. And then sometimes even go and spam, then get banned by a mod for doing so. Just for getting a topic locked.

So, if it is nessercery, the mod will lock it if you like it or not.

Well; it's always better that people tell the issues they have in mind, instead of keeping them inside. Because by keeping them, they will release everything one day or another and it will be much worse. That's why I don't always agree with "cutting" the conversation with someone who has a problem...yet the mods often do it. (by closing topics too quickly)

Hi.. I'm a sow called newbie. I have already read the rules, but after reading this, I read them again, to make sure I got everything right. But then a question popped up (I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to write this  ), but wats an avatar?

I agree completely. This kind of thing drives me insane.
I'm not saying that I hate newbies (come on, we were all one once), but yes, some of the things that some of them do does get on my nerves. Like the constant spamming of the PM boxes; I hate that. And the ones who don't read the rules and go on spamming the shoutboxes...I can't stand it. Then they get banned, freak out, spam out boxes and bring it to the forums to make us look bad. I hate it.

But, yeah. If you're a mod, it's guaranteed that you'll have to deal with these kinds of people.

This is NOT where you post something like this. You can simply go into 'Fan More' and check out the Visual Guide to Avatars. Please do not get off topic. Its annoying.

I do not know if this is really off topic, but a lot of members who aren't newbies are needing to be banned more than the newbies, themselves.

Generally, yeah.
But it's about half-and-half from the way I see it.

that's a whole other discussion in itself.

But seriously, it seems that more newbies are banned because they don't know the "lay of the land" as well.

most "mature" members get banned because they did or said something utterly stupid (which normally makes the majority of members slap their foreheads and go "What is wrong with you?")

Okay, first off, I find the term "newbies", and worse -- "n00bs" rather offending, and any person that uses them as such to put them down are hypocrits. Gimmie a break. Like you all haven't been there before. Can it hurt any of you to use your fingers a little more to type something a little more respectable, like...I dunno..."new people"? Or, how about something to the effects of "latest members"?
