I think that people who own a gallery should have there own right to change there own disply picture or disply name if wanted. Requests always take to long and most the time, note this is when i do it, they seem to just ignore the request. Just trying to state the fact, about 3 or 4 months ago i put in for a disply pic too be changed and yet still till this day it has been yet to be change and when i look around i only see people with more art/site "rep" had there's changed within only a day. I'm only asking for maybe to set it up where the owner could change there own disply pic/name only because it seems fair and it would cut down on the need of doing this for the mods in charge of this stuff, right? Remember this is only a idea, i really just want to see who agree or disagree, no flaming please or i'll just ask for this to be locked.

Maybe. Im kinda for it, kinda not. For it: Yes because sometimes it does take a long time. But I am usually patient. Not For It: That is one of the mods jobs and sometimes they are busy and it may take awhile. XD But don't get me wrong I do agree with you. Its a pretty good Idea

Well yea i know xP I know it takes so time for everything to be found and changed, could be a hard job but think about it, 3 or 4 months (even though i dont want it changed now) thats alittle bit long isnt it? It would be much easier to just do it yourself i say. q:

I say no, because some people might not even know how to do it or have the right programs ._. They might use the wrong size, font, or colours. Besides, people already have plenty to do with their pages. I mean, we weren't able to delete pictures a year ago, and now you can. AND you can even add a description on your pictures AND your page.

When (and if) i get onto the Fan Art admin I usually update the new gallery entrance pictures. But remember, we've got to update the galleries too, old and new. The new ones need entrance pictures, so your requests to change usually have to wait. That's how I do it anyway ._.
And, sometimes when people ask 'Why wasn't my picture changed?" Is because I sometimes don't see your name up there....

I understand people have lives, i really do because i know thats what you say to everyone Doby xDD. I understand that it could be mistakes, or just missing it, or life cause no one is perfect. q: I only gave in the idea to try to make things easier for both people on each sides, people can just go out and do it, while art mods have no last thing they have to worry about. Its just an opinion in my idea if its shot down, then its shot down. I thought that it be easier for people just to get it done themselves, but what type of program would you need to make a disply pic from your drawings? Photoshop, paint, Gimp?

Dont get me wrong, i love the upgrades that have happen to the art galleries, but i'm just saying maybe those art gallery people should be able to do that type of thing themselves. Mods have many jobs on here and maybe it would be good to change the picture/name one and give it to the people so they could do it on they're own. I can see problems with this idea as well along the lines of them becoming colored, messed up, use of stolen pic's, etc. so i'm not even 100% with the idea because of some people out there. I dont mind if steet or the others do like this idea, i really just wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone else does agree. :/

I have no problem with the way it works now but, I wouldn't mind if I had to change the gallery entrance myself. I'm pretty neutral with the idea.

Just an idea, but...
I think the mods did change your fanart entrance picture, BUT it may still be in your browser cache. If that's the case, you won't notice the new picture until you empty your browser cache. To do this, the easiest way would be to press "CTRL + F5" on your keyboard on your fanart page.
If it doesn't work, then you probably didn't correctly requested a change.

And no, I can't let everyone do their own entrance picture, because they would be too different one from another, as it has already been said.

Well, they already are very contrasting, but they have more of the sameness than they would if people COULD change it themselves.

I mean... there would be different fonts, and some may end up in colour... and then it would be over the size steet wants for them.

But I also think that having one person to do them would be best. Then we would know they would all be the same. And even possiby having the names in the same place.

I could probably use an automatic generator, like I do with the fan images, but it would be a much lower quality and very difficult to make.

It doesn't take long to make these, and not hard to get a good quaility.



You just need someone with enough time to spend on these each day. Because I am sure a lot of times there is requests everyday.

Just saying, these are missing my real point. I didnt mean to make this to complain about my picture not being change, i could really care less about it now, i only used it as a support to show why it might be a good idea to do.



I know and understand this fact and i did say something about that reason about it being bad before because i really wouldnt trust some people here with that ability, cause knowing some people here the pictures would be way off the rules and the way they are now :/ But Maya has a point, maybe you could find some mod thats on a lot or just spends time on these fourms to track down anyone who messes with the correct way. It might been easy to set the page to view all the galleries to look at the pictures and an easier way to just click on them and check. I'm not saying it would be very easy of a job of course, it might take a few but maybe you could find someone willing to do it? Would it still be bad you think?

It wouldn't work, I've seen what regular members can "produce" when I asked for fanart mods, and it would definitely be too different from what is required. It would be a waste of time for both the visitors and the mods as we would have to redo 90% of them...

But I still wonder why you're saying that requests take too long, because as far as I've seen, fanart mods do the waiting requests everyday. That's why I have said that if you waited so long, this was probably a cache problem from your browser, not a mods problem.

If everyone could control their own entrance picture and change their name at will, that might run the risk of them being changed a little too often. Names would get confusing, and I agree with sam on how the entrance pic could be messed up if one doesn't know how to do it. I think the mods do the best they can. Anyways, its the art INSIDE your gallery that really matters.
