OK, this is my first rant. I am not an expert, but I hope you get my point.



This is the FIRST rule of Balto Source. Steet want this to be a kid-friendly and swear-less site. But, as always, they are some rule breakers. As you can see, they are some people who swear in these beloved forums. Don't you think that, those people are breaking the 1st rule? Or is it just that some members don't read the rules?

What I mean, you ask? Well, I mean that this forum should be swear-free. I know that sometimes people can't get their expressions controlled and swear, maybe on purpose, or maybe by accident. But if this forum is really a swear-free forum, I think that if a person swears in here, it will be warned or something.

Get my point...?

Well, what do you mean by swearing? Because not everyone interprets all the same words as swearing, maybe if you could be a little more specific.

Using innapropiate words... y'know...

"******" and that kind of stuff

Most of the time they dont show the word only the first letter and last to show the emotion that goes with one of those words.

The first one that you posted the "Please god one" I dont really think would matter. Well to some people it might bug them but idk.

Please....I don't know you, but you're my only contact to the BaltoSource actual page right now. I need your help. Please, your trust may not be that much in me right now, I've never used the forums, but please, tell Staff Seargeant Bruno that I'm banned, tell him to tell everyone I know. Use privet messeges for that please. It has nothing to do with what we are talking about.

I don't think "dang it" is that much of a swear word. I think Steet blocked out the rather more obscene words.

I guess that your right, just thought I'd put that in there, here's a rant though, the Ban Box. Why? I think people should not be allowed to just "Ban" people for any random reason they want, That's why I'm in that cold, dark, lonely prison in there! But really, the Ban Box was a terrible idea.....what d'you think?

Just because you're banned doesn't mean its a bad idea to have a banned box And while you're at whining about your current situation, stay on topic. This isn;t about your ban problem. This is about swearing on the site.

And what would you have? People doing whatever the heck they want aka total anarachy? sigh... Cyber, this is not a good place for this...(it would be better to talk about this on the banned box to a mod rather than waste time and space whining on the forum).

As for the TRUE topic, I would say..."bad words" are based on a user's perception. Some people are offended when you simply say "shut up". However, I percieve that the rule was meant for the more inappropiate words...but, luckily I haven't really seen a huge amount of those words on here, and when I do, I usually tell them to stop it.

Well, I don't think you really have to ask what "swearing" is. Everyone on this site knows the thouroughly offensive words, and the not-so-offensive words. It's a matter of opinion, but also a matter of common sense. Also, certain words in different countries, use words that some of us would consider to be "bad words".

What sort of thing are you trying to get at?

That this site should be a perfect community with nothing wrong with it, and everything is happy-go-lucky, hunky-dorey goodness? lol. I saw a movie about a perfect community once....it didn't work out. XP

Cursing is something that's perfectly normal, believe it or not. You hear it in movies. You hear it in games. Heck...you hear it on school. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say cursing is RIGHT -- I'm just trying to say it's something that happens rather commonly.

You hear those words in real life, so what makes you think the internet's going to be any different? Even though this is a kid-friendsly site, I'm sure we can all agree not all of us are kids... (except me. I'm the only exception. XDDD)

But I'm still all for the no-swearing rule. Just wanna make that clear. ^^
