My husky is one and a half years old, but she still bites like no tomorrow, I get really fed up with it. She can get really nasty out of no where. I need some advice on how to control the bitting problem, Im desperate. I hoping she will grow out of it soon, my family can't take much more. Any advice will help, I don't want to have to give here away. Man I wish my Dashund was still alive :( . Thanks. :D

Under what circumstances does she bite you? When you start playing with her? As you're about to leave? Before you feed her? etc.

When my dog (Belgian Shepherd) was around 1.5 years old she bit alot to the point that mum and dad considered getting rid of her ( :x ).

It took a while but she did eventually grow out of it 8) She hardly ever bites or anything now. I think she just was a very hyper doggie and didn't understand that biting hurt. So discipline and time was the answer in that case.

Erm..

Huskies play rough. They run, wrestle, play-fight, play-bite. Your dog is just being a husky. And, your husky is young, but don't expect em to grow out of it so fast. After all, your dog is a HUSKY.
What you're experiencing is most likely "play biting".

Don't expect your husky to be like your last dog.
How much time do you spend with her?
Did you enter her in any training classes?
Huskies dig, run, escape, and they are rough.
And no, they are not like Jenna, to those people who think they are.

Though, before anything, she's young. I consider her a puppy still.
My girl bit me at that age, and it hurt. Heck, there was those bloody biting times, though what can one expect?
I highly doubt she's biting you to bite you, but to play with you.

Huskies love to bite. It's very common for a young husky to play bite, be mouthy, or whatever.
There is a way you can break them out of it.
Enter her in classes, or try spending more time training her yourself.
Buy a few dog books, and do dog training research.
It'll help alot.

If she's a year old then she is still a puppy. Dogs aren't considered adults until they reach 3 or 4 years of age. If she's still biting, she's probably teething. Get her toys that she could bite on.

well you can try hot sauce.... but other then that there is really no way to get a husky to stop bitting..my husky has to bite me at least every day and she is 13 years old. We have been trying to train her not to bite all of these years but it never worked. These dogs can get nasty and agressive somtimes even more if you try to take there food away

If she bites for no reason give her a little smack on the noise and say, "no" in an authoritive tone. You need to show her who's the boss and that should be you. But, do NOT hit her hard, a little tap on the snout should do it, just to surprise her.

No, no. Hitting is not the way to train a dog, even the smallest tap.
---

There is many training items, and training info that could help, that doesn't include hitting. :D (Clickers, ect)

Eh, that's how I get my dog to stop bitting, not hard though. I don't tap her on the nose for anything else though, just bitting.

There is MANY ways to train a dog not to bite, other than tapping the dog on the nose or hitting. Though, I am not going to get into that right now. It may work sometimes, though there is BETTER ways to train him/her not to bite.

Good luck with your husky.
