Most of the boards prefer Rock over most other kinds of music and hate Hip Hop. So the question must be asked. Why? Rock and Hip Hop are brothers it was the Rock revolution that spawned Hip Hop and it learned everything it knows from Rock. So it there a reason to be so harsh on it?

I don't think people really think about it that way. They just know what their ears like and what they don't regardless of musical history and so forth :D

It's really the way it sounds in the end that counts, I guess. It doesn't matter to me either way, but I prefer rock because that's what I play on my guitar XD.

I'm not tring to make anyone like Rap music just not to insult it or flame it without a real reason.

I know what u mean Hybrid
I mean honestly I don't like the ones that r like messed up. Like 50 Cent, Eminem and stuff like that
But when Fort Minor came out it just had this weird atmosphere almost like there was some alternative scene behind all the rap and hip hip.

Hm, I know what you mean. I mean, they are pretty similar in the sence that you can never understand what the singer is saying.

I don't hate rap or hip hop... the only thing that bothers me about them is how much they're played in the media today, it just seems over-used...

I can see how they're related, and hybrid's explination makes sense. I just don't really like how repetitive a lot of them seem to be in their lyrics (as in repeating the same 3 or 4 words at least 20 times throughout the song). I mean, I'll listen to hip-hop every so often just to listen to something different. Sometimes I find I prefer rock because everyone else that I know seem to be obsessed over hip-hop, and I like to be different.

Oh, no no no. I never meant to diss anyone, I just prefer rock becuase I can play it on my guitar and I like hearing all the guitar stuff and the drums patterns...basically, the music drives me.

Well most top 40 rap is not the best of what Hip Hop has to offer. Artists like Dr. Dre, B.I.G., Tupac, etc. are much better than the one hit wonders of the top 40 charts.

Haha.. no, I didn't mean you, but most the time people are calling it 'crap' instead of rap and it's really not nice XD

Tupac and Eazy-E are the best

I've said it before Mike is an Old Skool undergound Hip Hop like emcee but he is one of the lead vocalists in a rock band so he is hard to catergorize
