Indeed. You make a good point. And all the Gay and Bi people dont really talk about there sexuality. And you can't do that to people. If they are sexually coming onto the kids here, sure you can BAN them, but thats for a good reason. They cant ban someone because of their preferrence in people. Thats just as bad as most of the states banning gay marriage.

We are trying to keep the site kid friendly, and its hard when we, the members of BaltoSource (well most of us), have such... interesting, I shall say for lack of words, imaginations.

My mind is lost this morning. I will stop talking there.

I believe I've said this before, and I will probably say it again.

Everyone says that you can't have a double standard here. My answer is, yes, yes you can. It's very easy to do. The owners of this site have things that they don't want appearing on here, and one of those things happens to be homosexual content. Whether you like it or not, or whether you agree with it or not is immaterial. The fact of the matter is this: homosexual content is a problem waiting to happen. It causes flame wars because it is inherently controversial. Thus, for the sake of keeping the peace, it had to be gotten rid of. This is in no way a commentary on gay people or their choice of lifestyle. It is simply a controversial topic that is better left alone, much like whether or not you like American President Bush, or your stance on animal testing. It causes controversy and people aren’t going to discuss it calmly.

As with the "other" content, I've hardly seen anything on here that I would decry as overly graphic, sexually. Yes, some of the stories are quite titillating, and one I read even had a tastefully done sex scene (it's up to you if you think that any sex scene can be done tastefully, I, for one, think they can). This does not bother me. Then again, I'm an adult and of age to view such content in the country where I reside. There has been nary a single one where the sex was graphic enough that I didn’t want to read it. There are ways of doing this that I will not describe here.

Obviously, the owners of this site do not object to some light sexual content being integrated into the stories. Some of them aren’t precisely the best reading material for preteen children, but hey, that’s why they come with the little pop-up PG-13 warning on them. Parents should monitor their children’s habits online and if that little warning pops up, then they should not be allowed to read on if the parents find it objectionable. A double standard with the homosexuality issue? Yes. Entirely up to the site’s creator? Yes. And frankly, if children (or adults for that matter) are looking to inundate themselves with adult renditions of popular cartoon characters, they have many, many better resources for that type of material than this site. So, no, it doesn’t worry me.

About the violence. Yes, some of the stories are quite graphic. There was one I read that actually disturbed me due to the level of violence purveyed therein. But, it was my decision to read it, and I was amply warned. Another double standard with the homosexuality? Yes. Up to the site’s creator? Yes. If you don’t like violence, don’t read the fics that contain violence in their descriptions.

As to the judicial creep that Aamplythikheyes is talking about, where suddenly gay people aren’t allowed on the site anymore and things are banned simply because they might imply gay content, I think your fears are quite unfounded. How could gay people be prohibited from the site? If you aren’t broadcasting your gayness for all to hear, as you shouldn’t be, since that is not at all the topic of this site, then you’ll be fine. And as for the McCarthy-esque banning of all things even vaguely gay, I don’t think you’ll have to worry about that. Also, if you have a deep, moral, qualm about this site’s creator or his methods of allowing or not allowing things on the site, you are free to leave at any time and take up with some other Balto forum on the internet. BaltoSource is hardly the only one. So vote with your feet, if you feel you need to.

In conclusion, no matter how well-reasoned your argument is, or how right you believe yourself to be, Steet and the other owners of the site are not going to change the policy. They’re just not going to do it. If you want squeaky clean Balto fiction, go find some. If you want adult Balto art and fiction, go find some. What’s on BaltoSource is simply what’s here, and what’s allowed is what’s allowed. You can take it or leave it, but that’s simply the way things are.

Seriously.Its not really gross but parents just dislike their youngsters hearing or seeing it.Thats why its banned.Aamplythikheyes you should of found more friendly words than some of the cuss words you used......sadly because of that this topic will probably get locked......even though it does make a VERY good point.

I see your point and I understand what you mean pefrectly. But, the reason Homosexual fanfics were banned is because some people, a big part of the site, thought it was "disturbing" that two males fell in love. People began to leave Balto source and flames began. It had to be banned, we lost alot of members because of fanfics like that. Don't get me wrong, I loved Cat's fanfic but, it had created such a fuss that Steet had to ban it, for the sake of the site. So, I have to agree it was necessary even though, those stories were some of the best I've ever read.

Steet made a rule, no talk of homosexual things on this site. It started rules before, so this topic will most likely be locked once he returns from his short time away.

I was talking about Humans. I dont believe that animals are homosexual. I think its a human thing. ...And animals could careless about incest or age.

I dont believe they are homosexual, but I enjoy reading the fics about it. I dont really care what people write about. Its not like what they say makes it true, Bruno. So they can have fan fics with homosexual dogs if they want. They just cant post it here.
