Why is it that, sometimes, the sequel to a really great movie is bad? And why does it, in some cases, seem to ruin the first movie? Is it because the people working on it were just not working hard enough?

Well, the main reason is money : if the original film does not make enough money, they may make a sequel but with less budget. (so different teams, for example...Balto is a good example, but there are many like this...)
Sometimes, it's also that the original film did not have a scenario that made possible a sequel.

I think there is a mount of bad sequels,Tarzan,Pocahontos,Atlantis ,and Bambi and brother bears in the future,they have or will have bad sequels in my opinion.

Steet is right......Look at Balto 2 wolf quest, the animation definatley was different from the original............i'd say they just put less money into it because it doesn't sell as well as the original.

For me if they really want to make those movies they want,they canadd it in".........(Original ones' name) series" instead of making sequels or prequels,because those one are always going so far from the original ones.

With lots of bad sequels or prequels out there, don't forget about tv series.

i hate it when they make bad sequels cause its just for money and they ruin it

if the sequel really is bad, it really changes the first movie a bit in some ppls opinions (pocohantus 2 was shocking in the turn of things... just BAD) i wish if they cant do as good as they did in the first movie, and they know it (expecially maybe about the animation) they dont make one, or wait longer untill they make one. sadly most of it is about money in the world

I believe some sequels and prequels are meant to be made and some arent and are because of profit.

I know alot of movies that would be really great to have a sequel but there isnt one in the making. And some that have sequels but dont really need them. But what would be really good idea if they havent already done it. They should make the balto movie using real dogs. Good idea?
