No. I don't think so. A. He was just a puppy and didn't know what he was doing. No on ereacted to it so he thought it was okay. B. Why leave a young child and a dog alone? Any kind of dog was capable of doing that! If you ask me, dogs and very young children don't exactly go together.

That's the stupidest reason to put a dog down that I've never heard. Puppies will chew anything in sight if you allow them too, those idiots shouldn't own a dog if there going to put it down for something as pathetic as that. They shouldn't allow a disabled kid [or ANY kid for that matter] to be alone with a dog anyway..

Yes, the dog was dangerous. Once an animal gets a taste for eggs or human blood, you'll never be able to break them of it.

Yeah, put him down. Sorry, there's a difference between gnawing on something and chewing a child's leg to smithereens. It wasn't that child's fault any more than it was the dogs. Now this child has to go through life physically maimed. Too bad for him, right?
And come on, Emily, there has to be more to it than what you say. I'm sure the "Pitty" wasn't just bored and decided to chew some kid's leg off. No dog I've ever seen has ever tried to chew on a human being. There has to be some sort of circumstances that we're missing here. Are the parents crackheads? Were they teaching the dog to fight? There's got to be something missing here.
Yeah, put the dog down. But also, those people should be banned from owning pets in the future. Then all the problems are solved.

Kay, now I am very mad.
That.is.NOT.NOT.NOT.the dog's fault! No, he shouldn't been put down. He's only a PUPPY, and puppies chew. The poor thing didn't know what it was doing. Is that the pup's fault? The parents should know better than to leave a bored dog/puppy alone with a child! That is just STUPID.

The dog was NOT dangerous. The poor PUPPY didn't even know that it was doing wrong. And that is not true. -___-;

Actually this can be the case. This is one reason, if you live on a farm, you never give your farm dog eggs. The animal will acquire a taste for eggs and go after them in a coop. (I live on a farm, I know)
Since it was a puppy, I really doubt the punishment should have been so severe. How old was this child? The parents should have NEVER left them alone.

I mean. The never part. I wouldn't let my dogs taste blood or farm eggs, since it's risky that I might not be able to break them out of it, but I know a few people who broke their dogs out of it. That's what I ment.

The dog was a puppy and still had yet to be taught what and what not to chew. Once he bit into the kids leg he probably thought it tasted like some sort of meat and kept chewing it. Even if the kid can't feel anything in his legs, he could have still seen the dog chewing on him and told him to stop. I have a feeling that this isn't the full story..

I've seen lots and lots of news about pitt bull hurting people recently. Is it the pet's fault or the owner's maybe it's both
