I used to have an Atari, I bought it at a garage sale for like 5 bucks. But it never worked...and I was so excited to play it too.

I had a Master system and a Genesis (which was the first console I started played on), but don't have them anymore.
I had an Amstrad CPC, which I played much on (well it's not a console) But I also made games on it, since it was really easy to program...So I began programming at the age of 10 thanks to it.
Then I bought a Playstation 1 that I played on until 2001. (I would have never bought the N64 because of the cartridges, which were way too much expensive) I also played PC games during that period.
Then I bought a Dreamcast, when it was already "dead" so it was really cheap, games and console. I like this console, but it's too bad that it didn't have many games released on it...
And, to finish, I bought a Gamecube in mid-2003, and I still own it and play on it. This is in fact the console where I got the most games on...Even though I own it since only two years.
I plan on buying a PS2 when its price will lower (not more than 100€), but for the moment I have too many good games to play on the gamecube so I can wait.
I'm not interested in the next gens for the moment because :
1/ I don't like the marketing of Microsoft and the games on its consoles. Too american, too much FPS games, too much centered on online.
2/ The PS3 will be really expensive, especially if the director itself say so...Yet it's probably the one I will buy.
3/ The revolution, well I'm not interested in playing the old games (I have my pc and my gc for that). And if it is as "revolutionnary" as the DS, then -> bye bye nintendo...I will not buy a console that doesn't have third parties games, even if I like the nintendo games.

Hm..I own an NES, SNES, N64 (which I still dig out to play Starfox 64 and Ocarina of Time), both Playstations, and a Gamecube. I don't play them that much anymore, but I still regularly put on my PS2 mainly to play my favorite PS1 RPGs (Xenogears, Legend of Mana) and also have handy the horror games I love for the PS2 (Silent Hill 2-4, Fatal Frame, etc which I'll discuss in a future topic). As for the new things, I never cared about the first Xbox, and I won't care any more for the new one. You can have all the power in the world, but if your games aren't interesting, it's a pile of crap. The only game that ever appealed to me was Halo, and you can buy that for PC. The Revolution looks interesting, if only to have backwards compatibility, and still be able to play all the GC games. PS3, maybe. A couple of it's games look fun (Motor Storm, Killzone). But I'm not really hopping up and down in anticipation, I'm holding onto my money for awhile.

Yay!!! I have a PS2 and a Xbox and I might get a PS3 but I'll have to see how much it is.

I'd wait to see the reviews from the 360 there might be some issues with it if they try and rush it .

Well the biggest probable issue to me would be the lack of good games and not-so-incredible graphics...
