What do you name your FF7 characters? I'm not the kinda guy who keeps their regular names. I like naming mine after characters from my favorite cartoons. Here's what I named mine:

Cloud - Balto
Barret - Kodi
Tifa - Jenna
Aeris - Aleu
Red XIII - Star
Yuffie - Dixie
Cait Sith - Boris
Vincent - Nikki
Cid - Kaltag
I've gotten to Gaea's Cliff on Disc 2 so far in this save game. Star, Boris, Dixie and Aleu (Aleu's now dead) all have their final limit breaks while the rest are still eligible for theirs (I don't have them yet but I will get them).

In another save game, I gave them all Road Rovers names:
Cloud - Hunter
Barret - Blitz
Tifa - Colleen
Aeris - Persia
Red XIII - Exile

I'm planning on naming:
Cait Sith - Sport
Vincent - Muzzle
Cid - Shag
But so far, i've gotten to Junon (Disc 1) on this save game

Now if only I could name Sephiroth Steele and Parvo...........

Normally I keep all their original names, but I sometimes, it depends on the game, change the name of only the main character to Rusty.

I've always been curious about Final Fantasy. It wont work with my system though, cause I've got a Gamecube and not a Playstation

Actually you could play Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicals, that is for the game cube. It's not a main stream FF but it's still an FF.

Other names for the characters, I never got into it. I always liked the origonal names, plus with all the completion work being done for FF7, it would make things a wee bit confusing. I always used the origonal names, except for one time when I replayed Breath of Fire, I used Star Wars names, but that was the only time. For a lot of the newer FF games you can't name them, like in FFXIII, you can only name the main protagonist, and same with FFX. In FFXII you can't name any of your characters.
