This story is about a wolf who makes one enemy which she doesn't think much of until thigs get out of hand.

One Wolf
Sheko, a full dark gray female wolf with yellow eyes walked threw the cold damp forest in the early morning. Sheko was not just your ordinary wolf, but she was also NOT the wolf you would like to meet. Sheko was a wolf that many people knew but most of the people did not like her. Sheko, with her beautiful looks and her false cleverness, fooled many of the male wolves in the neighborhood and always in the end were heart broken. Sheko was a wolf not to trust. Most of the male wolves that have even known Sheko forever and know what Sheko is all about, are even fooled by her beauty and reeled into her sneaky little trap.
As Sheko walked threw the forest looking for her next victim, she had spotted a familiar wolf in the distance. A wolf about 15eet away from Sheko was also taking a morning walk.
The wolf 15eet away was Mylah. Mylah was a full brown female wolf with the most beautiful brown eyes you have ever seen. Mylah was nothing like Sheko. Yes, they were both the same age (2); both very pretty, both from the same pack, and both knew each other and the same people. But, Mylah had a completely different personality. Mylah was the sweetest wolf you could ever meat. Mylah was really fast and always competing with anyone who challenged her in anyway what so ever (that was usually Duke)
Duke was a gray wolf with 3 brown strips on his back. Duke was very sarcastic about his life and always considered himself to be the best out of all the other wolves. Duke was the biggest show off anyone could every meet. But, whenever Duke challenged Mylah to something saying he could beat her, she ended up always winning.
“Fancy meeting you here” Sheko said as she walked up to Mylah.
“Hey Sheko” Mylah said, avoiding eye contact with Sheko.
“Ugh, what is up with you Mylah? You’re like trying to avoid me!” Sheko said facing in front of Mylah growling.
Mylah raised her head and briefly made eye contact with her and said “I’m just trying to keep my distance that’s all” Then Mylah walked past Sheko hoping she wouldn’t follow and leave her alone.
“What! Why are you doing that! It’s not like I’m not your…….friend” Sheko said with a lying, cheap smile. “I am your friend right!” Sheko said almost like she was demanding Mylah to say yes.
“Sheko, I’m not your friend, but I don’t wanna be your enemy. Look, we have been in the same pack for a long time with each other and I have noticed that you and I are just not alike….at all. So I decided that I am going to not be your friend but I also planned for you to also not be your enemy so I thought that the perfect way to do that was to avoid you….ok?” Mylah said trying to get by Sheko again.
“You know what! I am not ok with you not being my friend and I am not ok with you avoiding me and you know what! Ever since the day I met you I had a feeling I wasn’t gonna like you and I was right so guess what….you can just be happy that you didn’t make friends with me because now I am you enemy.” Sheko said growling and then she took off running.
Mylah wasn’t exactly startled by Sheko but she was concerned about what could happen since Sheko knew the truth that Mylah didn’t like her.
Mylah decided that it was time to head back to the pack.
“I wonder what Sheko is going to do when she see that I’m back?” Mylah thought to herself.
Mylah finally reached the packs territory after a long morning walk.
“Hey Mylah!” said Shonie, Mylah’s closest friend and also a pack member.
Shonie was an all-black-wolf with nothing but pure-blood-wolf in her. Shonie was Mylah’s best friend and they were first friends too. When Mylah and Shonie were little pups, Shonie’s mother died so Shonie came wondering around the wood all by herself looking for a home and then she became part of the pack. The day Shonie came to the pack Mylah told Shonie that she was always there for her and that they would be friends and sisters for life.
“Hey Shonie!” Mylah said happily “What’s going on? Why is everybody up?” Mylah asked.
Shonie laughed “What do you mean why is everybody up! This is the time everyone gets up silly!”
“Huh? I must have taken longer than I have expected when I was going on my morning walk…” Mylah said.
“Your sure right you did! I was looking all over for ya!” Shonie said.
Mylah looked up and looked around scanning what was around her and the pack.
There was Sheko flirting with the new male wolf the pack and the male wolf was falling for it. The male wolf was named Chuken.
There was Duke talking to Star, a female wolf in the pack that he had a crush on since she came to the pack 3 months ago. Duke was of course talking about another one of his made up stories about his made up fantasy life and about a heroic thing he did in his fantasy life which of course didn’t really happen.
There were the 3 sisters who were hanging out with each other laughing and talking. They were Aura, Sheena, andIlaney all were gray with blue eyes.
After scanning the wolves she turned back to Shonie.
“Oh ya and Mylah, Sheko is sharing something about this morning with everyone in the pack about how she hates you and the whole thing.”
Mylah rolled her eyes and looked at Shonie “Of course! Know she shares it with everyone in the pack! My day has been going horrible!” Mylah said.
“Don’t worry Mylah! I’m sure your day will cheer up! Its still morning!” Shonie said smiling.
Mylah sighed then started walking again and said “Yeah…..I guess your right….”
As Mylah and Shonie were walking together to go and sit down to eat, Mylah saw Sheko glare at her. Mylah bent her head down and stared at the ground. “Why did I have to choose this day to go on a morning walk!” Mylah thought to her self.
Mylah and Shonie sat down next to a shady tree that blossomed white flowers during the day and at night they would close up. Then, as Mylah and Shonie were eating, they saw Shicreak, an all black male wolf that was the assistant of the Alpha of the pack, Maroch.
“I have an announcement!” Shicreak said so the wolves could here him and look. All the wolves looked up. “I have come to tell you, that the Alpha, Maroch, will be holding a pack meeting held today on Sequoia Cliff. Come to Sequoia Cliff after breakfast immediately! Thank you.” Then he walked off.
Sequoia Cliff was a giant bolder at the top of a mountain that was considered a cliff because when you were on the flat bolder, you were high up and could see almost all of the forest and a good view of the river. If you fell off of Sequoia Cliff, it would be a long drop.
“I wonder what it’s gonna be about?” Shonie said. “It must be really important”
“Yeah… well, we should eat fast and head there because getting up to Sequoia Cliff is tough and with everyone going at the same time, it will surely be hard.” Mylah said while getting up to stretch.
Finally, Mylah and Shonie made it to Sequoia Cliff. They were sure they would be the first ones there but when they got there they found Duke and Chuken talking to each other, talking to each other like they had been sitting there for hours. Also there was Shicreak and Maroch discussing something.
“Oh, hey guys!” said Chuken to Mylah and Shonie happily. “What took you guys so long! We have been waiting here for at least a half and hour!” Duke said dramatically.
Mylah laughed at Duke “Calm down Duke! You guys were the first ones here! You guys came like way before planned! So next time you come this early, don’t expect people to be just as early as you are!” Mylah said. Duke rolled his eyes and gave a sarcastic sigh.
Soon the whole pack was sitting down on the cliff, in a circle ready to go.
Before they started Mylah scanned the pack again.
There was Duke and Chuken talking together. Next to them were Shonie and Mylah. On the other side of Duke and Chuken was Star and the three sisters talking to Star. Then next to them was Sheko admiring herself. And then there was Shicreak and Maroch still discussing something (they were sitting away from the circle) and then there was Mylah and Shonie again.
Finally it started. Shicreak entered the center of the circle “Quiet please!” he said. “The meeting has started! Please set your attention to Maroch!” Then he left the circle and Maroch entered it.
“Hello, I hope you have all had a good morning?” Maroch said.
Every wolf nodded but Sheko and Mylah. Mylah put her head down and then thought about this morning. “I’ll never take a morning walk again” Mylah thought. Then Mylah looked up and looked at Sheko who was staring right back at her giving her an evil grin.
Then Maroch spoke again “ The reason I have called you to come is because I have a brother who owns his own pack but he is further north so it is hard to see him so one of his messengers from his pack came to me and told me that he is moving his pack to where we live so we can see each other and so we have decided that both our packs will join together and become one pack.”
All of a sudden everyone started talking to each other about it. “Quiet!” Maroch said. Silence came upon the crowd. “When are they coming?” Aura asked. “Later today” Maroch said. “Who will be leader of the pack? You or your brother?” Duke asked “Both of us will rule together” Maroch said. “Where will the pack members sleep?” Shonie asked. “Each one of us will share the cave with one of the new pack members until the new caves for them are fully built.” Maroch answered.
The questions went on for an hour until Shicreak announced everyone to get ready for the new pack members.
“Wow! New pack members! I have so much to do! I have to clean my cave, make room, clean the outside of my cave, catch the newcomers food, and…and….and!” “Calm down Shonie! All you have to worry about is making room and cleaning your cave and then wait for the newcomers. And I’m sure the newcomers can catch there own food by themselves.” Mylah said smiling at her friend. “Yeah I guess your right. Hey! Before we go to our own caves lets see how Sheko is handling the fact that newcomers are coming!” Shonie said with a grin. Mylah smiled and they went off running towards Sheko’s cave.
When the 2 of them got to Sheko’s cave they hid behind a bush where Sheko couldn’t see them. Sheko was standing in front of her cave talking to her neighbor, Chuken. “I refuse to share my cave with a newcomer so your just gonna have to take in two newcomers” Sheko hissed at Chuken. “But I can’t Sheko! I don’t have room in my cave! Your just gonna have to take your share and take in one newcomer” said Chuken.
Mylah and Shonie ran off laughing. “Typical Sheko!” said Mylah “I know! Totally!” said Shonie. “We’ll gotta get ready, see yeah later Mylah!” Shonie barked as she ran off to her cave. “Bye!” called Mylah back to Shonie.
After cleaning up the caves everyone was announced to go to have another pack meeting where they would meet the new pack members.
At The Meeting
Mylah and Shonie sat together but they only said a few things to each other because both of them were looking at the newcomers. So were all the other wolves that were not newcomers looking at the newcomers. The newcomers were doing the same. Finally Shicreak went to the center and spoke. “Quiet please and turn you attention to Maroch and his brother, Blucoch!” Then Shicreak walked out of the center and then Blucoch and Maroch entered. As they both entered every wolf barked and cheered including the newcomers. “Thank you” Maroch said. “I have come to announce what will be going on who will be cave mates with whom. And so I will start with Star. Star and Lucky are cave mates!(Star and Lucky left talking) Duke and Chuck (Duke and Chuck left) Sheko and Zibra (Sheko and Zibra left) Chuken and Leana (Chuken and Leana left) Aura and Sashee (Aura and Sashee left) Sheena and Sari (Sheena and Sari left) Ilaney and Bucken (Ilaney and Bucken left)” Now it was only Shonie and Mylah and a boy and a girl on the other side. The whole time Mylah couldn’t get her eyes off of the male wolf on the other side and he couldn’t get his eyes off of hers. “Shonie and Sara (Shonie and Sara left)” Now it was just Mylah and the other boy wolf on the other side. “Mylah and Luke.”
Mylah smiled at him when he came over to her “Hi Mylah.” Said Luke. “Hi” Mylah said sweetly. “This place is beautiful.” Luke said looking around in amazement. “Ya it really is. Tomorrow you will be able to see all of it I’m sure.” Mylah said.
It took a long time for Mylah and Luke to get to the cave because they were talking so much that they tended to slow down a lot with out even noticing it. Finally, when they reached the cave, they ate dinner then went to sleep.
The next morning Mylah woke up early and noticed that Luke was still asleep. She walked outside and walked over to Sheko’s cave. She saw that she was sleeping. So, Mylah took a walk.
Mylah took a walk down to the pond. The pond was a beautiful place. Trees were everywhere and there long branches curved touching the other branches from the other side of the pond making it shady. A cool breeze was always at the pond even on the hottest days of the year. It was peaceful and wonderful. In the center of the pond at its deepest point, there was a small, little island that had a weeping willow on it. The water was crystal clear and at night the water sparkled as bright as the moon. The pond was one of Mylah’s favorite places to be at.
Mylah stood at the very edge of the pond and smelt the sweet scented air as a breeze flew by. Then, Mylah put both of her front paws into the water letting them soak in the water and then sat down right where she was and stared at her reflection. “I’m glad to have Luke as my cave mate. I would never choose any other person.” Mylah thought to herself.
“Hey!” a voice said from behind Mylah. Mylah turned around fast to see who it was and then saw Luke in front of her smiling sweetly. “Hi! How did you find me?” Mylah said. “Well, I was looking for some breakfast and then I saw paw prints leading down here so I went to go see that it was that was down here and it turns out to be you!” Luke said smiling. “Um….We’ll I did see a bunny on the other side of this pond but I didn’t even bother to go after it” said Mylah with a grin. Luke turned his head quickly at Mylah then took off into the water. Mylah started to laugh and then raced after him in the water then jumped on him and putting his head into the water playfully and then kept swimming laughing.
Luke lifted up his head from the water and said “Hey! You get back here!” Then he swam after her and caught up with her and then splashed her as she was getting out. “Hey!” Mylah said while she was laughing. Then she jumped back in and bit his ear playfully. “Hey!” Luke said laughing too. Then Mylah raced out and Luke ran after her. They ran all the way back to the pack then tripped and fell laughing and rolling and didn’t even notice that the whole pack was staring at them.
Finally they both got up still laughing then opened there eyes and noticed the whole pack staring at them with half of them with the mouths dropped and the other half wide eyed.
“Oh…uh….uh…hi?” said Mylah embarrassed. “Uh…h-hi guys” said Luke also embarrassed. Both speechless of what to say Luke finally turned to Mylah and whispered “I’ll…catch-up-with-you-later. Bye.” “Bye” Mylah said back. Then finally, both of them went over to there own friends that were in the crowd and then the crowd started to break.
“What was that all about!?” Shonie asked to Mylah.
“Oh! Uh… You saw that?” Mylah said feeling embarrassed again.
“Of Course I saw it! Everyone saw it!” said Shonie.
“Um…Do you mind if we forget about it for a while?” asked Mylah shyly.
“Sure…What ever.” Said Shonie.
Silence fell upon Mylah and Shonie for at least a minute then finally Mylah spoke again.
“So, who is your cave mate?” asked Mylah.
“Oh! She’s wonderful! Her name is Sara and she has almost the same back ground as me! We could almost be like sisters!” Shonie said.
“That’s great!” said Mylah. “We’ll I gotta go, I made plans for myself today.” Said Mylah.
“Okay! Catch ya later! Ya, I have plans with Sara later anyways. Bye!”
“Bye!” said Mylah.
Later in the day Mylah took a walk down to the man maid trail that was abandoned by humans a while back before Mylah was born. Now wolves walked up and down the deserted trail. Today on the deserted trail it was quiet and no one was on it today. That was the time when Mylah liked to go on the trail when no one else was there.
Then all of a sudden she herd something from up into the woods.
It sounded like wolves talking but one of them was mad. Mylah couldn’t find out exactly figure out who the wolves were but she was determined to find out. So Mylah stepped off the trail and walked towards where she could here the talking. Then Mylah sees who is talking about 15 feet away from her. The people who were talking were Sheko and Luke. Immediately, Mylah ran behind a big rock and listened carefully.
“So Luke do you like anyone special here? Maybe like me?” Sheko asked as Luke.
“Um, not exactly you Sheko. Sorry, but your just not my type.” Luke told Sheko.
“What!? Not me?! I’m not you type?!? We’ll who then? No other girl is better than me! Especially that stupid wolf, Mylah.” Sheko said.
“No you need to back off! That Mylah you were talking about is the girl I like!” Luke said as he stood up growling at Sheko. “Now I’m leaving and I better not here you speak of that topic again! YOU UNDERSTAND!?!?!?” Luke said yelling at Sheko. Sheko backed off like a cowardly dog and took off running frightened.
Mylah’s heart beat fast and she felt her inside get all warm with butterflies all over and she felt like running around and howling for no good darn reason. Hearing something as wonderful as to here what Luke had just said made her feel wonderful and she actually was also having feelings for him too. She had never felt so wonderful in her life.
Mylah got back to watching behind the rock to see what Luke was doing and she saw him walking back and back to the pack. So Mylah made her way back but comely now feeling a little shy to be around Luke.
When Mylah got back, she headed back to her cave immediately trying desperately to avoid Luke or Sheko but right now especially Luke. She was so shy around him because she didn’t want to take any chances of embarrassing herself. Unfortunately, that whole plan didn’t last very long.
Luke was in the cave walking back and forth talking to him self.
“Oh….uh….hi” said Mylah as she entered the cave feeling those feelings again that just made her smile and she couldn’t help it.
“Oh..Uh…hi there My! Uh, I-I mean Mylah…uhh hehheh.” Luke said totally blushing.
“Um…It’s ok if you want to call me My” said Mylah also blushing now.
“Um…you wanna take a walk with me My? I have something to ask you.” Said Luke finally making eye contact with her smiling.
Mylah finally smiled with out being forced to by her self and looked up at him also making eye contact finally feeling comfortable again and said “Sure! I would love to!”
Then they went on a walk on the deserted trail again but this time it was beautiful in the night sky and with all the trees above. Mylah’s weird feelings soon came back to her as she stared at the ground just smiling away. But then she also noticed that Luke was doing the same and after a while they would look at each other by the corner of there eyes and would make eye contact then stare back at the ground quickly.
“So uh…this is a beautiful night isn’t it” said Luke.
“Yeah it sure is!” said Mylah back.
There was complete silence after that for at least a minute until Luke spoke again.
“You are looking beautiful tonight.” Said Luke
“Um…thanks…so are you” said Mylah.
Then finally Luke jumped in front of Mylah and said “Um… Mylah I don’t know if you’ll feel the same but….I love you and I….I….I want you to be my mate.”
Mylah stopped dead in her tracks and smiled uncontrollably and said “Yes! Yes I do feel the same way and I would love to be your mate!” Mylah said licking his nose.
That night Mylah never forgot and neither did Luke. The next morning they both woke up sleeping on the small little island at the lake right in the center where the weeping willow was.
They both walked back to there cave that morning to tell the news while talking to each other about there family and there heritage. Everyone seemed to be in a happy mood that morning except Sheko who had been glaring at Mylah and Luke all morning.
“Congratulations!!” said Shonie as she ran up to go greet Mylah.
“Thank You!” said Mylah.
“I can’t imagine how happy you will be with a wolf like Luke.” Said Shonie as if she was dreaming.
“I know… He is perfect.” Mylah said.
“My, I’m gonna go over to tell my friends the news ok?” Luke said while nuzzling Mylah.
“Ok go ahead!” said Mylah nuzzling him back. “I’ll be hanging out with Shonie”
Mylah and Shonie took a walk down along the river. All Mylah could think about was her bright future and what lied waiting ahead of her. They talked for a while as they walked. But little did they know that Sheko was following them the whole time.
“Did you here that?” said Shonie as she looked around
“Here what?” asked Mylah as she too started to look around.
Then they stopped when they both saw Sheko coming out from the shadows.
“We’ll hello you two.”
“Leave Sheko” said Mylah as she growled low and eyed Sheko.
“Oh, am I ruining it for you or was it you ruining it for me!?!” Sheko said growling ferociously.
Shonie took a step back.
“What are you talking about!?” said Mylah.
“You know perfectly we’ll what I am talking about! You and Luke! I could have had a chance with Luke if you just didn’t even bother with it!”
“We’ll I’m sorry for being born Sheko!” Mylah said now growling as ferociously as Sheko was.
Then close by one of the three sisters, Aura, was nearby, hunting for food and she herd the fight and went over to help.
“We’ll then maybe I should get rid of you so it was like you weren’t even born!” Sheko said then pounced on her and bit deep into her skin drawing blood and the blood spilled everywhere all at once and Mylah collapsed yelping in pain, tarring at the ground with her claws at the pain.
Then Shonie started to cry helplessly seeing her friend being tarred to bits and she yelled out for help frantically.
Then all of a sudden Aura hears and sees what is going on and runs full speed towards the fight and pounced on Sheko knocking her off so Mylah would have a chance to get up. Then she runs over to Shonie to also call for help.
Mylah gets up immediately and pounces on Sheko and clawed and bit at her. But then Sheko throws her off of her with her back legs and Mylah goes flying and hits her head by a bolder and falls to the ground. Then as Sheko gets up growling making her way for the kill Aura and Shonie run at Sheko and knock her down and tear at her.
Then Sheko gets really mad and throws both girls off of her and goes over to Shonie and grabs her by the throat and says “You beat it you mutt!” and then drops her and Shonie goes off frightened and scared but also worried about her friends.
Mylah turns her head away in fear as she is crying and is horrified. But she knows there is nothing she could do.
Then she goes over to Aura as she was backed into a wall and then Sheko grabs her by the neck and Aura starts to yelp horribly as she is shaken around everywhere but then the yelping stops and a small body was dropped on the floor. And Mylah knew what had just happened.
Then Sheko goes over to Mylah and Mylah turns her head with tears down her cheeks and she looks over and sees a small body and blood everywhere. Then Mylah turns her blood covered face to Sheko then runs away crying hard.
When Mylah got back crying she saw Shonie telling everyone in fear and then sees Luke running over to her.
“Mylah are you all right” Luke asked concerned.
But Mylah could not answered no matter how hard she tried to speak, no words came out and all she could do was cry and show her blood stained body to everyone.
“Let’s get you home” said Luke as he leaded her to the cave.
When Mylah got to the cave she finally calmed down and told Luke what happened then Luke went out to announce it and Shonie came over so they could comfort each other.
“Wh-what happened b-back there?” Shonie asked still shaking and with tear filled eyes.
“Aura…” That was all Mylah managed to say before she bursted out into tears once more.
Shonie walked over closer to Mylah to comfort her.
Mylah sniffled up her tears but still her tear eyes.
“I-I killed her” Mylah said as she tried to hold back tears.
“Y-you didn’t k-kill her Mylah, it was Aura’s o-own fault…” Shonie said poring out her tears one by one as she talked.
“B-but how come I feel like I killed her?” Mylah said as one tear slipped down her cheek as Mylah didn’t notice it running down her cheek.
Before Shonie could reply to what Mylah said Luke entered the cave.
“How is she?” asked Luke to Shonie.
“I’m fine” Mylah barely said as escaping tears from her eyes ran down her cheeks and started to walk over to Luke to nuzzle him.
“Ouch!” Mylah said as she was just about to nuzzle him. She turned her head and saw on her leg a terribly bleeding deep cut. Mylah started to limp as she felt the excruciating pain in her left leg. Luke put his head under hers to help her catch her balance.
“Let’s get you lying down.” Said Luke as Shonie came over to help her. They set Mylah down in a corner on a hay stack that was there for a while that Mylah originally slept on.
“There you go.” Luke said as he settled her down. Then he started to lick the wound for her.
“Thank you guys so much for helping” said Mylah as her one last tear dripped down her cheek.
“I have to go get Sara now, she is worried and wants to know what happened. So bye Mylah! I hope you feel better.” said Shonie as she left.
“Bye!” said Mylah.
Luke sat in front of Mylah.
“I am so glad you were not killed. Aura was a good wolf to you…she liked you Mylah…she saved your life. I’m sure you’ll always remember that brave little wolf.” Luke said as he licked her muzzle.
Another tear began to run down her face. “I will always remember that little wolf.” said Mylah.
Then Mylah went to sleep for some rest.
The next morning, Mylah slept in late and leg was still aching and for a minute Mylah had a reassure herself that it wasn’t all just a dream. Luke wasn’t there in the cave that morning. Mylah rested her head again and sighed.
“Maybe today will be a different day...”Mylah thought to herself. Mylah felt so relaxed that morning though she still was sad and her leg hurt painfully.
Then Luke came in with 2 bunnies in his mouth and some flowers in his mouth too. Then he dropped them next to her resting head and said “There you go! I got the bunnies and the flowers for you to help you feel better.” Said Luke with that smile again. Mylah smiled sweetly back and said “Thank you so much Luke! I love them!” Then he smiled again and lay next to her.
“Are you ready to get up yet?” asked Luke.
“Almost…maybe later in the day…when I got up when you were gone my leg was hurting painfully.” Mylah said.
“OK…I’m gonna go out to my friends for a little bit…do you mind if I leave you?” Luke asked.
“No of course not!” said Mylah.
Then Luke ran out of the cave. Mylah rested her head for about 5 minutes until Shonie came in.
“How have you been?” asked Shonie.
Mylah lifted her head and looked at her cut once more. The cut was not dripping blood at the moment, but, it was still pretty bad looking.
“My cut still hurts and I still have that sad-gut feeling in my throat and stomach from yesterday and my eyes hurt a little bit from crying but, I’m all right other than that…you?” said Mylah.
Shonie sniffled a little. I cried a little bit this morning but other than that I’m fine.” Said Shonie as she started to walk over to Mylah to sit down.
“I should get up soon to see if I feel all right enough to walk.” Said Mylah.
“Do you need any help getting up?” asked Shonie.
Mylah started to stand and said. “No…I’m fine…if I need to get my strength back I’m not gonna get it back with the cheep way of doing it.” Said Mylah.
Then Mylah stood up and started to walk. She was perfectly fine even though she limped just a little bit. Her left leg seemed almost num but not quit num when she moved the bone and muscle. Mylah and Shonie stepped outside of the cave. For a minute, the sun was hard on Mylah’s eyes since she had been in the dark for a little to long. The air smelt fresh to her since she had smelled the smell of cave for a while.
“It feels so nice to be outside again.” Said Mylah as she took in the air that gently blew across her face. “I should go find Luke and tell him that I am up. Do you know where he is?” asked Mylah.
“I saw him go to the hunting grounds this morning on my way to your cave.” Said Shonie.
“Ok…thank you for helping me Shonie!” said Mylah as she walked off to the hunting grounds.
At the hunting grounds, Mylah saw a lot of the new members of the pack and Luke hunting with them. There also was Ilaney, one of the three sisters that was actually only two sisters now, sitting alone on the edge of the hunting grounds with her head down, staring at the ground. It was so sad to see her that way. Then Mylah started to walk over to Luke and said “hi” Luke turned around and saw Mylah there.
“What are you doing up?” asked Luke looking worried “Is anything wrong?” Luke added.
“No, nothings wrong…I just feel better…that’s all…but know that I see Ilaney over there, heartbroken, I’m not sure I’m all right.” Mylah said. Luke nuzzled her and said.
“Don’t worry…she’ll get over it…everything will be back together in no time.” Said Luke.
“I’m gonna go talk to her…I think it’s the best thing I can do for her right now…” said Mylah with her eyes starting to water a little bit.
“Ok…I think that’s a good idea…” said Luke as he nuzzled her.
As Mylah walked over there she stared at the ground scared of not knowing what to say or worse…what she will think of Mylah now.
“Um…hey…” said Mylah as she sat down next to her.
“Oh…hi Mylah…” said Ilaney. She sniffled and tears were running down her cheeks and she tried to hide it from Mylah even though Mylah could see it. Mylah seeing how sad Ilaney was made her heart tear to pieces again and once again she felt like it was her fault that Aura died.
“I-I’m so sorry that Aura had to go…” said Mylah know holding back her tears.
“I-I have to go…” said Ilaney as she ran off down the hill crying hard.
Mylah felt so bad. How could this have ever happened? She never would have wanted this to happen. Aura was a sweet little innocent puppy who just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. And yet Mylah still felt like it was her own fault.
Later that day, Mylah was out walking around the packs territory with Luke. So far, the whole day Mylah did not see Sheko anywhere nor did she see Ilaney or Sheena besides the time when Ilaney ran off. That made Mylah feel horrible but not seeing Sheko all day made her happy. But then as Luke and Mylah were talking, Mylah spotted a big group of all the wolves from the pack in a circle talking.
“Hey Luke, look at that. All the wolves are talking and they look like there talking about something serious.” Said Mylah.
“Should we go over there and see what there talking about?” asked Luke.
“Yeah” said Mylah as Luke and her walked over to the circle.
At the circle there were all the wolves talking. Sheko was there and so were Ilaney and Sheena were there. But neither Sheena, Ilaney, nor Sheko were talking. Ilaney and Sheena were staring at the ground looking sad and Sheko just glared and gave an evil smirk at Mylah. Mylah saw it but then stared right at the ground afraid.
“What is going on?” asked Luke.
Shonie leaned over to Luke and whispered to him.
“Were talking about Aura’s death and who should be to blame.” Said Shonie.
Mylah over heard what Shonie whispered to Luke and she became sad again but also a little bit stiff because lately she had been thinking she was to blame. Then, all of a sudden, Sheko stepped to the middle of the circle and started to speak.
“Quiet! We all know why this circle had formed… it was to have a memorial service of Aura’s death…” Sheko said as she pretended to cry and look terribly sad as she eyed Mylah again. Mylah glared at her knowing what she was up to. Mylah thought that Sheko was trying to get everyone to think that she didn’t kill Aura.
“Aura was a great young wolf who died at a too-soon age. She was the loving sister of Sheena and Ilaney. Aura was the youngest out of the sisters and even though she was the youngest and the smallest one… she had the biggest heart out of all of us…I’m sorry, that is all I can say before I burst into tears anymore.” Said Sheko as she fake cried. And as she walked out of the center of the circle, with her head down, she eyed Mylah again and smirked. Then the two sisters walked up to together and spoke.
Finally everyone was finished talking and every minute of it Sheko was staring and glaring at Mylah. Mylah tried to avoid it but it was so hard not to. Then after everyone was done speaking, Sheko walked back up to the center of the circle.
“Mylah can you step forward please.” Said Sheko as she glared at Mylah. Mylah’s heart sank into her stomach with a sick, twisted feeling inside. Mylah looked at Luke worried but Luke signaled her to go forward so Mylah looked at Shonie but she too also signaled her to go forward. So Mylah slowly walked forward and every step closer she got to Sheko, the more her legs felt weaker.
“…Mylah, I want you to say sorry for killing Aura please. You killed her Mylah and you need to say sorry and leave so we can get on with the memorial.”
“WHAT!!! I did not kill Aura!!! You did Sheko!!” Before Mylah could say anything else everyone in the crowd gasped including Sheko.
“How could you say that about me!? I would never do such a thing as to kill Aura! She was my friend!” said Sheko
“She was not your friend!” said Mylah.
Then Mylah turned to the crowd. One half of the crowd has there eyes glaring in shame at Mylah and the other half shook there heads.
Mylah couldn’t take it anymore. Everything was horrible! Now she was being blamed for Aura’s death! A drop ran from Mylah’s eye, down her cheek and onto the ground. Then Mylah ran even when her leg hurt all the way back to her den and cried her heart out.
Two days had passed since the memorial service and the only people who believed her were Shonie and Luke. Everyone else believed Sheko. Everyone ignored her and for the first time in Mylah’s life she felt alone. Way to alone. Everyday all Mylah did was spend her days were spend it away from other people because know one wanted her around. As a matter of fact Mylah thought knows even cared about her anymore.
“Hey…” said Luke as he walked up to her.
“Hey Luke…” she said smiling and nuzzled him. She was glad to know that Luke still cared about her even at a time like this.
“Are you ok? I mean…you have been hiding for a while now…2 days…would you like to maybe step out of the shadows?” asked Luke.
“Yeah maybe you’re right…but when I pass by them the never even notice me they’ll just look at me briefly then stare back down at the ground immediately.” Said Mylah.
I know, I know…but maybe that’s because they feel like they don’t know you anymore…maybe they’ll get to know you again if you step out of the shadows. Just for one day that’s all I’m asking.” Said Luke.
“Um….I don’t know…” said Mylah smiling.
“Aw please?” said Luke smiling that smile again.
Mylah laughed and smiled back at him and said “Ok, Ok I’ll do it…”
“Yeah!!!” said Luke acting like a little puppy.
Mylah laughed at how Luke acted and then said “Come on.”
When Mylah got back to where all the other wolves were, she saw Shonie talking to Sara as they ate. Mylah walked over to them and said “Hey!” with a smile on her face. “Oh, hey Mylah! How are you?” Shonie said. “I’m great! So um…how is everyone else?” Mylah said feeling a little tense. “Oh…there…ok…”Shonie said. To Mylah, that didn’t seem like such a fully positive answer. “Oh…ok…um…would you guys like to go walk around with me? I need to see everyone’s faces again…I haven’t seen them in a while…” said Mylah smiling.
“Oh sure!” said Shonie “How about you Sara? Do you wanna come?” said Shonie again. “I wish but I can’t I’m meeting my brother for lunch soon. Catch you later!” said Sara as she walked off. “Bye” said Shonie. “Bye!” said Mylah. Then they both went off walking around.
“Um….Shonie…” said Mylah
“Ya?” said Shonie.
“Do you think the real reason of why Sara left was because she was…scared of me?” asked Mylah.
“No! I am positive that is not true! She did have to see her brother! She even told me. Her brother is sick so she offered to take him to lunch today.” Said Shonie.
“Oh…ok…I’m sorry…it’s just that I feel so…I don’t know how to put it…I guess I’m trying to say is that I feel so mean like I was the person who killed Aura…but I know I wasn’t the person who killed Aura…Sheko was! I hate her!” said Mylah.
“I know you didn’t kill her…come on… let’s go and say hello to everyone.” Said Shonie.
Then they walked together to where everyone was.
“Hello.” Said Shonie to start it off.
Mylah followed behind and made a small smile and stared at the ground.
“Hello” Luke said from the crowd as he walked up towards Mylah to nuzzle her.
“Hi Luke.” Said Mylah in a whisper as she nuzzled him back.
Then Sheko glared at Mylah from the crowd. Mylah noticed the glare and she felt her self go stiff again and then she faced Luke and said in a whisper and scared. “I’m not sure this is such a good idea any more…” said Mylah as she was about to walk off.
Then Luke faced her again and said “Wait, Mylah, don’t worry…nothing gonna happen to you.” Said Luke as he walked her back to where she was.
Mylah looked back at where Sheko was again and she was still staring at her glaring. Then Mylah looked back at Luke again and said “She keeps glaring at me… I-I have to go. I mean it.”
Before Luke could reply she left and so he ran after her.
“Mylah! What’s going on?” Luke asked her as he finally caught up to her.
“She kept glaring at me like she was gonna kill me… I don’t know I guess I ran off because she gave me the same glare she gave Aura before she killed her…” Mylah said with tear filled eyes.
“Don’t worry…I’m here…” said Luke as he nuzzled her and licked her fur to comfort her.
Then they started to walk together back to the cave when all of a sudden Sheko came out of their cave and said “We’ll hi you to!”
“Run!” cried Mylah to Luke as they ran in the other direction.
Then Sheko jumped in front of them and said “Oh…going so soon? Heh… I don’t think so” said Sheko as she walked up closer to Luke. Then Mylah jumped in front of Sheko and put her ears back. Then Sheko pushed Mylah aside and walked up to Luke. “We’ll hi there Luke” said Sheko as she rubbed her fur against Luke.
“Leave now Sheko! I can tell the alpha’s about what you have been doing!” said Luke growling.
Sheko laughed all of a sudden and said. “You wish you could do that but I’m afraid you couldn’t do that even if you started to walk over there right now.”
“What are you saying...” said Luke eyeing Sheko growling low.
“Let’s just say I took care of them already…” Sheko said giving an evil grin.
Then Luke looked at Sheko and then said quietly. “You killed them…” said Luke.
All Sheko did was grin. “I haven’t told any other wolf yet…I’m just waiting till they get suspicious.” Said Sheko grinning.
Then Luke scratched her face then ran off with Mylah.
When they ran off they ran to tell the news. When they told the pack they were as sad as they all bursted out into tears and some people walked off trying to hide there tears.
“We’ll….what are we supposed to do now?” said one of the wolves from the other side of the pack.
Mylah turned her head as well as the rest of the wolves and looked at the wolf.
This wolf was possibly the youngest wolf in the pack. (She was even younger than Aura) This wolf seemed to be named Eniah. They said that she lives with Kia, a wolf from the other side of the pack that babysat the young wolves. Since there were no other young wolves like Eniah, Kia only took care of Eniah. Eniah is an abandoned pup. She was abandoned from her mother a week after Eniah was born. Eniah’s mother, Shehli, was part of the pack when the two packs didn’t collide. Shehli had a mate named Tisk. Tisk was a mean wolf. He pretended to be nice to Shehli and she fell for it. Then, when she had her first litter which was only one puppy, Eniah, Tisk hid the puppy in a burrow and when Shehli went looking for Eniah, Tisk told her that she fell in the river and drowned and it was to late after Tisk found her. This was not true. Shehli was so sad she went away and left the pack and Tisk followed. Then when they were gone, Tisk killed Shehli and left Eniah in the burrow to starve. But then Eniah was found by the pack so they went to find Tisk and Shehli but what they found was Shehli’s body and then they found Tisk’s body on the ground with a bullet in his leg. A hunter saw Tisk kill Shehli and so he killed Tisk. Then, the pack found out of Tisk being evil because a wise old wolf saw the whole thing and told the pack after that. So, Kia was put to take care of Eniah for the time being.
Eniah was an all white wolf with blue eyes.
“We’ll??” Eniah said. Kia came over and tried to take Eniah away but then Luke said.
“Wait. She has a point….what will we do now?”
“Who’s gonna be our new alpha?” said Duke.
Everyone began to look at each other with a puzzled look on everyone’s faces.
“I know what were gonna do…” began Chuck, Dukes cave mate.
“Were gonna find out who’s gonna be the alpha! And we will have a meeting on Sequoia Cliff next week to decide who it will be! So, people who want to be alpha better have people who will vote for you by next week!”
Everyone looked at each other in agreement. Then, everyone began to part.
Then Shonie came over to Mylah.
“Hey!” she said.
“Hey!” said Mylah back.
“Are you gonna try to be Alpha?” asked Shonie.
“Oh, of course not! I’d rather not even try.” Said Mylah
“Why!?! You would be great at it!” said Shonie.
“We’ll…I’m sure a lot of people will try to be the Alpha and I don’t want to start any commotion. I’ve had enough of that already.” Said Mylah.
“Oh…ok…bye!” said Shonie.
“Bye!” said Mylah.
Then Mylah got back to the cave.
“Hey!” she said.
“Hey!” said Luke as he nuzzled her.
“How have you been?” asked Mylah.
“Oh, I’m good…What do you think about that Alpha thing?” asked Luke.
“Oh, I don’t know…I guess its ok as long as nothing bad happens.” Said Mylah.
“I agree. I would hate if things got a little to competitive.” Said Luke.
“I wonder if Sheko is gonna try to become Alpha” said Mylah.
A week had passed and they had found out that Sheko had tried to become Alpha. So did a lot of other people such as Duke of course. Then finally came the meeting. Everyone sat down and Luke went up to the front.
“Will the people who want to become the Alpha stand behind me.”
Then, 5 wolves came up there. 2 of those wolves being Duke and Sheko. Everyone in the crowd turned silent.
“Will Bucken come forward and tell us why you want to be Alpha?” said Luke. Then Luke left the center when Bucken entered.
“Hello everyone! I’m Bucken and I am new to this area. I have found this place very nice and it reminds me no so much of home so I want to redecorate this place so it looks more like where I came from. I also want to add more games for boys so they can have a chance to play while the females do work. This way there is a change in the balance. I also say that everyone has to steel from the humans who live in the town near here. This way our food source will be a lot easier than hunting. That’s all.” Said Bucken as he walked off.
“May Duke walk forward.” Said Luke.
“Hi! I’m Duke. I love to win. I may not win all the time but I sure do like to. To win was one of the reasons why I entered this thing. So here it goes. I have lived here with the same pack for a long time and I love everything about it and mostly everyone. I want to keep things balanced but I do think we need change. I do agree that we should steel the food from the humans. Being what I am today makes me proud of what I am, a wolf. And I think that maybe conquering other packs would be a good idea. This would give us power. Thanks.” Duke left.
“Um…may Lucky come forward.” Said Luke.
“Um…hi…I’m Lucky. I think that maybe we should move back to where we belong and just separate us again. I hope you agree with me because I’m the lucky one! It’s in my name! Thank you.” Lucky left.
“May Ilaney please come forward.” Said Luke.
“Hi. I’m Ilaney. I was the sister of Aura. (Ilaney’s eyes started to water) I think that since things have gone horrible and it’s been coming from the new side or the side that was first here, I think everyone should go there separate ways…cause I am…” said Ilaney as she ran away into the woods crying. Then everyone’s voice started to talk as they watched the sisters leave the pack. Sheko grinned.
“Quiet please! (everyone settled down) It looks like someone has left the competition. That leaves Sheko. Sheko your up.
“Hello everyone…I am Sheko and I know I have been the witness of two murders but I need to tell you I did none of them. I was just a witness and I am very sad about it. I needed to tell everybody that. I want things to be the same. I want nothing to change all I want to do is calm everything down and get everything back to normal. Please understand what I am saying. Let’s get everything back to normal and let everything settle down.” Then Sheko sat down.
Luke entered the circle with 2 wolves. One was black and the other was white. They seemed to be discussing something. Then they came up to the center with Luke.
“Ok everyone. Here is who it is gonna be. Bucken, we know you miss your home but redecorating is not the solution. Also the idea of stealing food from the humans could mean death and it is too risky. And I know all wolves would love more games but putting the females to work without our help is not necessary. I’m sorry Bucken, you are not the Alpha. Duke, you are very kind but since you wanted to be in this because you like to win, you are not the Alpha. Lucky, I’m sorry but going home is not the answer. You are not the Alpha. We’ll that leaves us with one person and that one person has to be it…that is…Sheko?? No!” said Luke. “Yes!” said Sheko as she jumped up.
Mylah got up and said “No!” The thing that feared those most had now come true…
2 Months Later
New rules had been past, horrible rules. The rules had to be as followed- 1. All wolves most stay away from each other and can not talk to each other unless permission from Sheko.
2. All wolves can not go hunting with out permission from Sheko. If you do not have any sort of food for Sheko, you can not go hunting.
3. No one may go out of there caves unless you have something for Sheko such as Rule number 1 and 2. If you go out with out permission, you will be put in a human trap by Sheko’s guards.
Same goes for the other rules.
A wolf walked fast with its head low and being quiet among the shadows of the pack’s territory. The wolf kept its eyes open for any sign of Sheko or her guards. The wolf leaped into the brush and walked threw branches and leaves until it finally got to a fallen Red Wood Giant tree.
“Mylah?” said the wolf in a whisper voice. Then a wolf came out from the eatened away Red Wood Tree.
“Luke!” said Mylah in a whisper voice.
Both wolves were skinny and al the wolves had turned skittish.
Mylah ran up to Luke and nuzzled him.
“Where have you been? Did Sheko catch once on your way over here?” asked Mylah.
“No, they have just been all over the place more and more it is so hard to sneak out. I don’t think were gonna be able to keep sneaking out a lot longer.” Said Luke.
Mylah nuzzled Luke once more.
“Oh…I hate this! Just to see one another, we have to sneak out! This is a mess! I don’t know what to do! I haven’t seen Shonie for the longest time! Sometimes…I even forget who she is or anyone else as matter of fact.” Said Mylah with tear filed eyes.
Luke nuzzled Mylah.
“I know…” said Luke. “I gotta go…before they catch us…bye Mylah.” Then he left before Mylah could reply.
On the way when Luke was going back, He herd a voice.
“Hey you!” it shouted. Luke jumped around to see who it was. It was one of Sheko’s guards. Luke started to run and the guard started to run too. While he was running he noticed hiding wolves, shaking in other caves. It was horrible and Luke couldn’t take it. Then Luke came to an end where a big wall got in his way of going any further. Luke looked up but it was too tall to climb. He looked to the sides but there seemed to practically be no end to it. He turned around and he seemed to be cornered. Luke started to growl at the wolves barring his teeth. The wolves growled back then tried to pounce at him but when they tried to pounce at him; Luke jumped over them and ran as fast as he could. The wolves started to run after him. But before they could catch Luke, Luke disappeared into the darkness. Finally, Luke got back to his burrow. His burrow was small but it was shelter. Luke waited in his burrow for a long time until the scent of the 2 wolves was gone, out of the air. Then, Luke came out of his burrow and shook of the brush from the twigs of his burrow. He slowly and cautiously looked out into where everything was. He looked where they had come from and they were not there. Then all of a sudden he herd a voice that certainly seemed unfamiliar.
“Luke?” said a shaky almost sick voice from the other side. Luke turned and faced the other side. There he saw a wolf that was shaking, water filled eyes, skinny, and looked sick.
“Shonie?” he said walking towards her.
“Yes. It’s me…”said Shonie.
“What happen? You like terrible!” said Luke.
“I-I couldn’t feed myself because I don’t have any food to trade with Sheko. I’m hungry and it’s been a long time since I have played or seen anyone. Where is Mylah? I miss her so much.” Said Shonie practically crying.
“I know…but you can’t see her right now…I was just being chased by the guards. It’s too risky for you to go out there and see her.” Said Luke. “You should actually go home right now…”
“I know…I saw you running…that’s when I came out to see you…I have seen other wolves running to but those were on different days…I really do hate this…” said Shonie. All of a sudden a howl was heard. “I-I have to go.” Shonie said as she ran off.
The next day, when Mylah woke up, she peered out from the Red Wood. There was a guard sniffing around. Mylah knew she had done nothing wrong so she stepped out to ask the guard what was going on.
The guard answered “I was chasing after a wolf yesterday. He seemed to have come from this direction. You don’t happen to know anything…do you?”
Mylah felt scared.
“I wonder if they chased Luke yesterday. What if they caught him going back to his home? I hope he’s alright.” Mylah thought to herself.
“Um…no! No I haven’t. Um…I’m sorry but I haven’t seen a wolf in a while. I would be surprised if I saw one yesterday. And if I did, I would have told you.” Said Mylah.
“Hmm….ok…keep an eye out…and don’t go out!” said the guard as he left.
When he left, fully left. Mylah snuck out and ran fast down to where she thought Luke might be.
“Luke?” she whispered.
“Mylah? What are you doing?” said Luke from his burrow. “Get over here or they’ll see you! There still out there!”
Mylah ran into his burrow and hid.
Then, they saw the feet of one of the guards. (The guard Mylah saw before) They stayed low and quiet as they watched the wolf sniff the air. Luke and Mylah started to grow tense as they saw him recognize that they were close. Mylah and Luke started to get ready to make a run for it when all of a sudden; they herd a howl from another guard. Then the other wolf near them left. Then Mylah got out from the burrow and faced Luke with concern.
“Luke, a guard came up to me today and told me about a wolf snooping around here yesterday. I know it was you…”said Mylah. Mylah looked down at the ground as she waited for a response.
“I know…but I could not do anything about that now could I. I was looking out carefully and all of a sudden the guard appears. I’m sorry.” Said Luke as he nuzzled her.
Mylah nuzzled Luke back. “I know…it’s just that…if they did find you…I wouldn’t know how to live with myself…I would be so sad.” Said Mylah.
“And I would feel the same way if the same thing happened to you.” Said Luke. “Which means…I want you to leave…”said Luke. Then Mylah backed away from him a couple of steps and said “What? Wh-What do you mean?” said Mylah.
“I need you to escape. I want you to leave this pack. I will feel happy again knowing that you are safe. But…with you here…I feel as if you are in danger and I don’t want anything to happen to you…that is why I visit you so much. I take my risks to see you to make sure you are all right. But to know that you are away from this nonsense will make me happy. Mylah, it’s not a choice for you. I need you to leave. I will be waiting here for you. Come back when everything is better.” Said Luke.
Mylah could not speak. She was too sad to speak. She felt as if no words could express how she felt. She felt a pain in her stomach of the sorrow. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she stood there. Her ears faced back because they could not face forward with happiness. Her tail was low to the ground. Mylah knew Luke was right but she wish he was wrong and there was some other way.
As Mylah left, she thought to herself about how much she loved him. She remembered the good times they had together and the time when they first met. Mylah started to cry as the rain started. She felt all alone in the world….she felt like there was no place or someone in the world that could comfort her. Mylah put her head down in sorrow as she walked through the empty forest. She finally walked out of the pack territory and every step she took she felt herself a stranger to herself and everyone she knew.
“It’s my fault…No one even knows I have left...I feel helpless." she said as she cryed. She started to run in sorrow. She ran deeper and deeper into the forest.
Finally Mylah got so tired that she finally stoped. She noticed she was in the deepest part of the forest. She looked around. It was nice.
On one side of her was a running sream. All around her was fresh green grass and trees around her but seperated. Then she kept walking forward, she saw to one side of her a big tree. There was a big hollow spot in the tree from the ground and went up the tree. Mylah walked to it and went inside. Inside it was nice and warm it seemed. No one was living inside of it. Mylah decided this is where she would stay.
Mylah slowly started to lie down in the hollow tree and started to think of all the people shhe knew and started to cry again and cryed herself to sleep that night.
The next morning she woke up and her eyes hurt terribly. She closed her eyes fast at the pain of the sun in her eyes and the fact that they burnt. She slowly turn her body around to face the back of the inside of the tree and opened her eyes again. She waited a couple of seconds until she could see clearly again. Then she thought about last night again and remembered the people she would remember then sighed a bit. She almost felt like she would never see them again. Expecially Luke. She decieded to keep her mind off of that and got up and stretched. Then she walked outside.
Mylah looked around, she noticed it was a beautiful day. Even though the air was cold. She saw some neighbors pass as they were hanging out with eachother. It reminded her of home a little but when she saw two couples she felt a sad feeling come over her and she just started to walk towards the stream she saw. There she took a drink and started to clean herself. She looked at her sad reflection in the water and sat there staring at it for a while in memory of them.
"I hate Sheko. She caused all of this." Mylah thought to herself.
As she was staring into the water she felt someone push her into the water.
"Whoooaa!!!" Mylah said as she started to go diving into the water.
A big splash formed and Mylah got up but still in the water and shook herself off a little then looked to see who knocked her in the water. There she saw a wolf was all white with gray socks on all fours. They were low socks but not really low. She had gray ears and gray under the eyes. Her muzzle was white like the rest of the body and her tail was gray also. She seemed to be the same hight and looked like the same age as Mylah. She had the lightest blue eyes Mylah had ever seen, they were almost gray. She was a slender wolf and looked so sweat.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" the wolf asked.
"Yeah. I'm fine." Mylah said.
"My name is Annie. What's your's? I have never seen you around here before. Are you knew?" Annie asked.
"Yeah. I'm new here." Mylah said as her eyes slowly fell to the ground. "My name is Mylah."
"Mylah..." Annie said. "Hmm...almost sounds familiar. You from around here?"
"No. We'll...yes....in a way...sorta...I do live in these forests but no where near here." Mylah said.
"Ooohhh so you are new huh! We'll what brings you around here? Oh, so foolish of me! I shouldn't ask those type of questions. I'm sorry." Annie said.
Mylah smiled at Annie. She liked Annie. She seemed to make happyness in the world and that's what the world needed right now. Expecially for Mylah.
"No. Don't be sorry. It's ok if you ask those questions you see..." Mylah told Annie the whole story.
"Oh...I'm so sorry. You must be in a lot of pain right now..." Annie said.
"Yeah but for some reason you have made me feel happy." Mylah said smiling.
Annie looked up from the ground with a smile on her face. "Thanks. Hey, you wanna hang out with me? I'm sure it will be fun that way you get to meet everyone." Annie said.
Mylah smiled feeling her joy redeeming. It felt good to be back in a way but she still missed them. "That sounds like fun." Mylah said.
Then Annie started to jump across the stream so Mylah did too. They walked a little bit then Annie said "This is the hunting grounds." she said in a smile.
Mylah looked around and couldn't help but smile. It was beautiful. There was a whole bunch of wolves there and there seem to be tons of bunnies everywhere then Mylah looked over and saw one puppy grab a bunny then say "Look Mama! Look what I got!" It all seemed so wonderful some what almost like home. Then Mulah with out saying anything just started to hunt feeling free again with no worries at all like nothing ever happened before.
The whole day went fantastic. Everything was wonderful. She met new people and everything. "We'll bye Mylah! See ya tomorrow!" Annie said. "Bye!" Mylah said.
Mylah entered her hollow tree again that night and felt satisfied almost.
"It's good to be back to my old self." Mylah thought to herself. Then she drifted off to sleep.


3 Months Later...

It was winter now and there was snow on the ground. Mylah had her first puppy a month ago when the first snow came. Mylah's baby looked like Luke except it was a girl. Mylah decided to name her puppy Massie. She was beautiful. Mylah only had one puppy and that was Massie.
"Annie...I have been thinking about taking Massie to live with Luke. I want him to have her for now. I will see her after a while. I will have Roru take Massie there. After all he is the delivery boy." Mylah said.
"Ok." said Annie.
"I'll go tell Massie the news." Mylah said.
Mylah entered the hollow tree where Massie was sleeping.
"Massie. Huney." Mylah said as she sniffed her baby. Massie turned her head to face her mother.
"Huh?" Massie said in the sweetest puppy voice.
"Huney, today your gonna meet your daddy." Mylah said smiling at her.
"Daddy?" Massie said.
"Yes, that's right." Mylah said.
Mylah got Massie up then brought her outside. She got her all cleaned up then made sure she had a good breakfast. Then Mylah walked Massie over to Roru while he waited for them.
"Massie, now I want you to remember to be good and stay away from a wolf named Sheko. I mean it. Stay close too daddy ok?" Mylah said with her eyes watering as she said good bye to her.
"Ok mommy. Mommy, when will you come to see me and daddy?" Massie asked.
Mylah smiled and licked her for head "Soon huney. I love you. Bye."
"Bye mommy I love you too!" Massie said as Roru took her away.
Mylah watched until they decepeared.

3 Weeks Later...

"I can't wait any longer. Besides it feels safe now. Annie, I'm sorry but it's time for me to go now. I will come back here when I can. But now I have to go." Mylah said to Annie.
"You promise you will come back to visit?" Annie asked.
Mylah smiled at her. "Of course Annie. I will never forget about you."
"Ok then. Be safe!" Annie said.
"I will!" Mylah sad as she started to run back to her original home.
As Mylah ran, she remembered the times she had with Luke. She remembered Massie, she remembered Shonie, and she remembered the rest of the pack members. She remembered the time they met. The time Shonie and Mylah first met when they were little. She remembered everything. She couldn't wait to get back home.
Finally she got back home.
"Luke!? Luke!? Luke!?" She called out excitedely.
"Mylah?" she herd a voice call from behind her. Mylah turned around quickly and saw Shonie standing there.
"Shonie!!" Mylah called as she ran towards her friend.
"Mylah!!" Shonie said to her friend with tears of joy.
All of a sudden everyone came out and Mylah could here everyone say "Look! It's Mylah she's back!" and "Mylah!" she definately felt home again.
"I have missed everyone so much!" she said.
Then she scanned the pack around her again and noticed that Luke wasn't there.
"Wheres Luke?" Mylah said. All of a sudden all of there heads started to stare at the ground as if they were sad.
"We'll?" Mylah said as her smile turned into a worried and sad frown. She felt a sick feeling go to her stomach.
"Mylah....I...I'm sorry..." Shonie said facing Mylah tears were in Shonie's eyes.
Mylah all of a sudden out of breathe and felt herself almost fall back and got dizzy all of a sudden.
"No...." Mylah said as tears filled her eyes.
"When you left...Sheko....sh-she got him....she...." Shonie said.
Mylah started balling into tears and felt herself almost collapse to the ground. She couldn't take the sorrow. The pain she felt. This was way to much. She felt herself almost not breathe. Her heart couldn't take that kind of sorrowness mentaly her body just couldn't take it.
"No!" she screamed.
"No!" she screamed again.
"Mylah...Mylah...calm down...sshhh..." Shonie said.
Mylah forced herself out of Shonie's reach and kept balling into tears.
"Where's my baby...where is she?!" she said crying in a screaming way.
"Sheko got her too..."Shonie said.
Mylah bursted off into a full speed as fast as she could run into where Sheko's den was. And found no one there. Mylah screamed and fell to the floor crying. The only two people who loved her in the world were gone.
"I'm sorry Mylah...I really am....Sheko left us to die after she found out the baby was hear and Luke was already dead then she took it back here and...we'll......killed her....I'm so sorry Mylah..." Shonie said.
Mylah took off out of the den and went away off the wolf territory and then all of a sudden saw something. She a whole bunch of paw prints in the snow. She knew those paw prints well...they were the paw prints of Sheko, Massie, and her guards..
"Sheko didn't kill my baby...she kept her..." Mylah said. Then she looked up to what was infront of her. ".......and I'm gonna find her......."
