If there was to be an official Balto 4, be sure that I would know it. So there's no point in making a "folder" if there's nothing to put in it...

I think it would be interesting if Universal made a movie about puppy Balto. Not a stupid midquel like what disney's doing now, but a good prequel.

Well, it's good to dream...They don't even plan making another film, so asking for something like this is like asking for a miracle.

I dunno, it's still possible they could..... I mean, I remember when nobody thought there would be a Balto 3 either

When exactly? Because there were proofs on the web that there would be a B3 as soon as B2 was released. Which is definitely not the case now for a B4. (and considering their answer to the petition, it's not going to happen before a long time... :? )

Yes, if there was to be a Balto Four, it would be a LONG time until they made it. And as the answer had said, Balto Three didn't make enough money (Although I couldn't blame it with the horrid job Universal did with it). I personally think it was kind of surprising for a Balto Three to come out.

But I guess, we can hope.

When Balto 2 was in developement, I was reading a commentary on IMDB where the director was asked if there was going to be a 3, and he said he didn't see much hope of it, but that the release of Balto 2 would tell.

It might still be up on IMDB somehwere but I can't find it.

If this happened with WoC...like when the director was asked for the 3rd..and answered with "not a big hope"..and as we asked nowadays, same answer for the Balto 4...Probably they'll make :) Because the events seems to be repeating XD

It's what I understood so far.

Well there is still a more slim chance now than ever before, since after a 3rd part they usually stop, so I give it a 5% chance of happeneing. However, it's still 5%

I've never seen such a thing. If he really said that, he must have deleted his comments afterwards.
Balto 2 did make "good" sales, see this for a proof :

http://mag.awn.com/index.php?ltype=all& ... 436&page=3

More or less the same sales than one of the LBT sequels.

The main problem currently is that Universal is focused only on both the Land before time and Curious George sequels AND TV series. (yes, both have a TV series and a direct-to-video sequel to Curious george is planned)
And making a TV series is much longer than making a DTV sequel. (and a higher budget too) And I've seen that they are already preparing a second season for Curious George TV series...
...meanwhile, they haven't done any single thing for An american tail since 7 years...Which is something I don't understand. Because this is the best way to kill a franchise. An American Tail was one of the best known animated franchise, and now, very few people remember it. (except for the animation fans of course)

Yes, I know it seems odd, but I think it was being made such a big deal about because there was such a stretch of time in between the orginial movie to the second. I am still looking on IMDB, and searching on the internet too, if I find it I will post it.

And yes that is another thing that is puzzling, Balto 2 attracted very few buyers, so the sales were not good at all, but they still made a 3rd.

I said the opposite, and gave you a link for proof...

There was a gap of 5-6 years between Balto 1 and Balto 2.
So if there would be the same gap with another sequel, it would make...2009 or 2010. It's not that far, and considering making a sequel takes 1-2 years...We would need to hear news about another sequel before the end of 2008 for this to happen.
Of course there is very little chance it will work like this.

Lol didn't even notice the link  But wait, Wolf Quest braught in that much?? I thought I heard from somewhere it was only 15 mil right around the same time (actually around the first of 2003). In fact I thought it was considerably less..... however I did get that information from the video store guy, sooo...

I tend to believe the sales figures, not the store guys.
