Has anyone else noticed this increase in non balto related pictures in galleries lately? I've seen horses, cats, dragons, humans, and other things...and it's really starting to annoy me.

Now I know there are tons of pictures uploaded daily onto this site, I'm not blaming mods in the least so please don't think I am. And I also know the FA mods don't always want to, or can look through all those pictures in detail. I don't even know how it works, lol.

But returning to the topic, this site is dedicated to Balto, so why are there other creatures? Dogs, wolves and other canine OC's are allowed as well I know, those don't bother me. It's the others. People should for one, know the rules, and even if some aren't as enforced as others, members should know not to upload these other animal pictures. There thousands of other sites for those! If they're posted on this site just to show other friends, either post the image on another site, and then send the link to that picture to the friend(s). It's not that hard to think about. "Oh this picture isn't a dog or wolf, so I shouldn't upload it." Simple as that.

I've held back from commenting in those said galleries, but its just not getting better, and my resistance is waining. Now I said before if its an original character, or is a dog, it is still allowed. I also have another point relating to that very thing.

Ginga Densetsu Weed. It IS about dogs, yes. And it's a pretty cool show, but, again, there are OTHER sites dedicated to that very thing. I've seen galleries where most of the images are made up of GDW pictures. And I won't name said galleries of course, but would cutting back, or even stopping altogether be that hard? DeviantArt.com and Fanart-central.net other great art sites, you're welcome to put all the GDW pics you want there in another gallery. Though, I will say I have two GDW images up in my own gallery, and will most likey get rid of them now to, perhaps, encourage others.

Wolf's Rain. Not as much of a problem as above with GDW, but might as well be mentioned. It's about wolves as we all know, and is pretty popular, it's style fun and challenging to draw. Again I myself am guilty of some of these styled pictures. Style shouldn't be an issue, (unless it's theft, but i'm not getting into that) just that if its either the Wolf's Rain characters. Other sites please.

I have also seen other animes that have no dog relating characters. Mostly Naruto. Now there IS a dog in that show, but I don't see as many pictures of that dog. I've also seen Pokemon. Now I don't know what people's reasoning behind THAT one is.

Moving on to other animals. Horses. Seen quite a few of these around. I love horses, but on a dog/wolf site? Come on, common sense please! I know the movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmarron is popular too, but do I need repeat myself?

Dragons I am absolutely obsssessed with Dragons, but you don't see me posting pictures here. I don't know if people do it because they think they'd get more attention, or what, but they don't belong here.

Coming to my last point: humans. If the human is perhaps your dog or wolf character AS a human, that, to me, is alright, I've done it with my character Achak. Or if the character is from the Balto movies, got no problem with that.

I hope you all can understand what I'm trying to say, I'm not the best at explaining my thoughts in alot of detail. I'm not trying to play mod either. I'm definitely not meaning to be mean to those artists who draw those images. Just attempting to offer some suggestions as to where these other pictures should be.

Yes, Most of it is other animals etc, or their own character. Why are mods letting these be posted. The rules say, only Balto realated characters and dogs are allowed.

Well, I think that people should be allowed to send art that have people in it as long as it's not all they send in. What I mean is :If they post a drawing of a person every month or so and during the rest of the time they send art of animals. I think that is alright.

I'm not saying ONLY Balto chars, I agree there wouldn't be half as much art if it were like that. It's just the non dog or wolf art that really bugs me.



What are you talking about? You're art is good! And It's not that I'm saying you HAVE to draw balto, I don't do it much either. And I have nothing against GDW/G art, just that I've seen alot of it recently. There should be a limit, you know?



Unless it's human chars from Balto, human characters turned into dogs (to a limit) or an OC dog or wolf turned into a human, I don't think it should be posted. It's in the rules.

You mean to tell me that your saying that we cant even post dragons on the forums? Or are you talking about the fan art section on the main site?

On the fanarts on the main site. Here on the forums is fine, that's what all the subjects are for after all.

Yea no kidding. i to have seen horses and ween younger members come across these drawings. They think to them selves hum...if she can draw a horse and post it so can i. So they go and draw horses and what not.

I rarely allow off-topic art on, a few humans here and there because humans do appear in the film.

But this is a BALTO fan-site not a Weed fan site or a wolves Rain fan site, a Balto fan site.You may draw other dogs and wolves and submit them, but please enough with the only sending Wolves Rain, Weed and we are borderline ready to stop accepting Balto/Star Wars art, this is not a Star Wars fan site. The art is wonderfully done but it simply doesn't belong on this site.

Well I suppose having one or two horses in a gallery is okay, or more then that if there's a wolf in the picture also. But, if that's all they send then why don't they just post there art on the forums, since anything is allowed. I HAVE seen gallerys with only one picture of a horse or a dragon, and it IS really annoying to me..

They should stick to just posting those sorts of pics on the forums, they have no place in the main site's galleries.

Yeah that's what I ment, they will also get more thought-out replies, unlike the "OMG I LUVE IT!" that they get on the main site.
