I've removed the possibility to send fanfics files directly on the site.
The main reason is that it's a burden for the mods to update them (they need to convert it with a special program and it's not that easy)

So, from now on, you'll need to make a copy/paste in the editor to send your fanfics written in document files. Follow the instructions there if you don't know how to do this.

If you encounter any problem because of this, reply here or send me a message.

Wow, that hit like a dull thud.

Truth be told, it's not that hard (for me at least).
But I guess every little bit helps.
If I understand correctly, now we fanfic mods only have to check the story and update it, because there will be no file sent and thus no need for the converting software?

PS: Are you sure you can Paste onto the editor? The last time I tried that, it wouldn't work... I'll check again.

Yes, that's it. Besides, I weren't able to use the software myself, since some time, and I think it's better not to use it at all.

Yes, I tried doing it on both Firefox and Internet explorer, and it worked. Sometimes it doesn't work the first time you click "paste", but just do it again and it should work.

Well, on Netscape, it doesn't even give the option of clicking Paste...
And I believe the fanfic system still gives the option of sending the fic directly.

What can we Netscape users do? It seems odd that we can't use Paste.

I'd be happy to still update the old way. It's no trouble for me.

Err...Mmm...How should I say it?
Netscape is a VERY old browser, and not even 0.1% of the visitors use it. (according to my stats)
You should use a more recent browser, such as Firefox, Opera, IE 7...At least to do this. Firefox and Opera are 100% free. Most sites nowadays are not tested to work under Netscape, so you'll encounter problems anyway.
Did you try doing "CTRL + V" in the editor, maybe?

I think the newer version of the editor works with Netscape; I'll update it, but it won't be easy because it's much different from the current version.

It's still there, but to give the instructions how to do it.

I was wondering though : how does the other fanfic sites manage this? Because as far as I know, there's no simple way to convert Word files.

Hey Steet!
Haven't heard from you in a while! Good to know that the master of all that is Balto is still interested and around lol. I have used Wordpad (a program that is standard in almost all windows packages now) to open MS Word files. You can find it in the accessories folder. Once a file is opened in word pad it is then possible to save it as any other format you wish. Hope this helps.
