There are a few people here, and i'm not saying names, who like to ban people and leave them banned for absurd amounts of time. For example, in 2006 I got banned in the beginning of October, and my account wasn't reopened until January! On top of that, the person who banned me wasn't even the one who opened it! I had to wait for steet to open it for me. I also have a friend, who was banned for about December to a week ago.

I don't think that mods should be allowed to ban, not unless it's something serious, that happens, because mods are not good at banning people, and i'm not alone in saying this. A lot of times, I hear people say that they were banned, and they don't know why, or they are left banned for a long time, or something like that, and it's not fair.

I just want to know if anyone else has had this or a similar issue?

But what did these people DO to get banned? Mods don't ban for no reason. They always have a very good reason. That's one thing that really peeves me is when people sit there "Oh.. I'm not supposed to be banned this long. Please unban me!!!!111 I swear I'll be good. Yada Yada Yada." It's just.. rediculos! There's this wonderful little saying we are ALWAYS telling the banned members who pull that crap with us: "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime."
I mean, HONESTLY. If people who are banned for cussing, offending other members and other stuff will get out with a week or so, they need a SERIOUS reality check.

true, tibb, a lot of people who get banned DO deserve it, and i'm not and NEVER will say they won't. most of the time, there in violation of either basic rules, or flaming, but that not the issue.

It would be different if people were getting banned for things like death threats or something like that, but no one here does that, i hope, which is why a lot of people get huge bans for little stuff.

I just got the news I'm permanelty band. I had a month for saying a rude name about someone. Now they decided a permadent band was best. I think its the most sutipid thing on earth they have ever done to me. They will only allow me here.

For the love of all that is holy! We told you numorus times WHY. And it wasn't for no good reason. There is a very good reason. You had other chances and screwed those up, too.

Balto claw, if you're going to keep bashing the mods and complaining, then we won't hesitate to ban you from the forums as well.

Shimmer, I never did have respect for her. And I don't have respect for people who don't understand that if you break the rules, you're going to be punished for it. Rozalyn, I understand that you were upset about being banned so long, but that is no reason to say "all mods are stupid, they don't know what they're doing, they shouldn't be allowed to ban." Where would we be if no one was banned? No offense to Steet, but he is not online much, which is the reason why he hired moderators to fill in for him when he is not there. If he took that power away from the mods, this place would be a living hell. There would be no order. No one would be afraid to break the rules or stand up to the mods when they try to enforce them. Just because you were banned doesn't mean that mods are bad people who run around banning everyone in sight. You were banned for a reason. You're not Mrs. Goody-Goody-Two-Shoes.

I would respect her as another person, but she's gone way too far. If she has enough nerve to push our buttons when she knows that we're upset with her as it is...I just have no respect for people like that. Especially when they FAKE it. That was probably the most immature thing I've seen on this site in a loooong time. >_>

Getting back on the rant, I suppose you can call me a bias person. If mods go around banning people for no reason, then I have got to be the most mature person on Earth. But of anything...October to January...? That's three months. Err, hello? It's not that bad. Go to IMs, and curse us out there. There are people who are banned for life. GOODBYE, SO LONG, ASTALAVISTA!!! Just letting you know...bans for those amounts of time are not as uncommon as you think.

What? As far as I remember, I didn't unban you, nor did I unban anyone this month.

You know what is funny? Ask a banned visitor, they'll always say they have been banned for no reason...

Why can't they just recognize their faults? I truly don't understand this. By doing this, they make things worse for them.

At first, mods ban for one day or one week. But then, the banned visitors keep their bad attitude in the banned box, so they get banned for longer, and then they complain they were banned for so long...Come on.

The best solution to come back on the site, and to not be banned, is still to listen to the warnings and change your attitude when you get one warning. If you don't, then the mods have all rights to keep you banned for longer and longer, even permanently. Don't blame anyone but yourself when it happens.

suka: true, there are people who get banned for life, but those people more often than not are either repeat offenders of the same thing, or do something horrible.
