I've already picked up 5
Genesis/Mega Drive: Sonic the Hedgehog and Gunstar Heroes
SNES: F-Zero and Super Castlevania IV
Turbo Graphix: Super Star Soldier.

It's interesting for people who didn't own these games, but very expensive for such old games. Especially because it's 100% benefits for Nintendo, because there's nothing material : no cd, no cartridge...and these are games who have already been paid off for ages. Sony is selling PSone games in the same way, but for 3€...while Nintendo sell old "Nes" games for 5€. Find the error.
And to think many predicted Nintendo's death 2 or 3 years ago...And now they are making the most benefits they have EVER made since the company was started one century ago!

Not really, it's emulation so you may have a better resolution, the possibility to save anywhere, but not a better framerate or anything like this.

Not really...I mean if you look at most 64 games..they do go for more than 10$ US. and most SNEs go for more than that...especially for Mario RPG...and well..NES thats another story.

I've read about the Virtual Console, it sounds worthwhile if you have a wii. Do you have to pay to put games on there, or do you just go to a local store to put them on?

Yah I'm like I can just go to EB games and get any of the old games for half that, not too great a deal. And your right steet they could drop the price but no one as of now has anything like it yet so we will see.

prices may seem a little high but Nintendo isn't the most internet capable company and as time goes on they may lower some prices. Everything on the Wii is really just a trial version for what Nintendo could be doing if they had been ready at launch.

Quote: prices may seem a little high but Nintendo isn't the most internet capable company and as time goes on they may lower some prices. I wouldn't wait for this if I were you...Nintendo has always been the one to keep the prices as up as possible. For instance, they have never officially cut the prices on the Gameboy advance or Nintendo DS games. Only the gamecube had a range of half-priced games. No, Microsoft has Xbox live arcade which works more or less the same way, and Sony is releasing PSone games in the same way (although you can only play them on the PSP for now) Their games are less old and much cheaper.
I'm not saying the virtual console is a bad thing, not at all, but by buying many games on Nintendo's, you agree to pay a high price for old virtual games that have not been enhanced in any way. (except the saves) Same bugs and slowdowns. And region restricted - so no Chrono Trigger, for example.

/quote] So umm...Sorry If I come off rude but, right now..your price standpoint is invalid. Maybe when more of the virtual console games come out it will drop the price but right now it's still cheaper to buy on the virtual console.
I have xbox live arcade..the games aren't cheap. Or at some standpoint as High Qyuality as the Virtual console releases..and Don't forget..these are third party small companies looking to make a few bucks...not a big name company who cansell their extremely amazing titles at a wee bit more.(doesn't mean I wont buy em though) and lemme pull up an n64 price list. Such as Mario 64 20 somethin bucks...its 10 on the VC. Just look at the list..most of them are over 20 bucks themselves. *just glares at HArvest moon*
