There's a place in North Central Indiana called Wolf Park, which is like sorta a wildlife preserve for wolves, like without cages and whatnot. I hope to make time to have a road trip down there this summer, if no one wants to go with me, maybe I'll just go myself.
I've never seen a real, live wolf, although I have seen a fox, which was really cool. Let me tell you about it....
I'm really at a loss for where to begin, so maybe I better begin at the begining. I was playing golf, it was a warm summer day at my home course, and I was by myself as I often was. This has been at least 5 years ago by now. I was at the 17th tee, and I hit my shot. It came up a little short, so I walked along the cart path toward the green. I came around a corner, and over by the woods I saw a tawny shape out of the corner of my eye. I thought a dog had gotten onto the course through a hole in the fence or something. No, it was a fox. He was beautiful. He was a reddish-orange color, with black boots, and white on his tale. And he just stood there. And we looked at each other. He looked me right in the eyes. He seemed to understand that I couldn't hurt him and wouldn't have even if I could have. And after what had been 1 minute or maybe more, he turned and slowly trotted into the woods. I bogeyed the hole and never saw the fox again.
And now you're thinking, what the hell, who cares? It's just a fox. And maybe so, cause I've seen deer and even a coyote on that course. But the fox was different. It was like he was, I don't know, like he was more real or something. That sounds corny, but it was true. For me, I can see it in my mind like it was like it was just yesterday. I couldn't tell you what I had for dinner two days ago, but that fox is burned into my memory. And I'm at a loss for why. Maybe it was because the lighting was just right, or because I was alone, or because it was summer. I don't know what it was for sure. It was special because it was so incredibly mundane in a way. But at the risk of sounding lame or stupid, the fox and I shared something there. I cannot put into words just what or how, but it's true. That was a good moment in my life.

Well, I really dont know if this counts, but my Aunt's boyfriend had a 3/4 wolf puppy, and I got to play with it.
Other time was when me and my mamaw were going some where when we saw a wolf on the side of the road. (It was with people.) I bet it was going to a zoo.

I've never actually been up close with a wolf. For two reasons; one, it'd probably be very scared and would run at the sight of a human, secondly, I don't live in a country where we have wild wolves.
I have however, met a wolf through the bars of a cage at a zoo. I mean, a real zoo.. the kind I don't like where they don't have massive enclosures. The wolves were just pacing around and one stopped by the bars and looked at me, wiggled his nose for a second (as they do) before pacing onwards. Another situation was when we went to Woburn Safari Park where you drive through the animal's enclosures in your car. The wolves were being fed so weren't very interested but one was stood right by the road eating, so it was pretty close.
Then there was Cotswold Wildlife Park but those wolves were sad. They were new and only had a small enclosure. They didn't even glance at the people.

Aw, unfortunate.
I've seen a fair few huskies. Including two very beautiful ones at a country fair. A grey male and one that looked like Jenna who didn't really like my dad's spaniel very much.

I've never actually walked or petted one. Ah, and there was this one time, a guy who was begging for spare change had one, I guess I have been kinda close to one. wolfgurly666 wrote: really? i would imagine that you would seeings how you live in canada? you know huskies anyway...well there are wolves wild there too....but if you ever do...its awsome!!!!!!
I think I'd be scared of a wolf too. But nope, there's not many different breeds of dogs around here..let's see.. There's a Collie, 2 Shepherds, a Cocker Spaniel, a Golden Retriever, 3 labs, a Chihuahua, a Rottweiler and a Mastiff. That's it. XD It's a wonder why more people don't want huskies, I guess there not that popular here, especially since I see ads in the paper everyday for give-away huskies..
EDIT: I forgot that there's 2 Saint Bernerds here, too. XD
