.. that there should be a movie of the actual story?

I mean, the animated Balto didn't really bring much reputation to the true story. I had to look up the Balto story after watching the movie to actually learn about it fully. Dog movies are always popular and this one could be very moving. However, it's always a risk making a movie based on a true story.

We seem to have the right kind of technology now to make a decent Balto movie. What do you think?

Why not make this a Fan project?

There already is a movie about the real Balto: "Balto's race to Nome" (1925)

I have never heard of this movie? Of course that doesn't mean it does not exist, I will have to look into it. I think Starsky means a proper movie about the story with actors (if you know what I mean).

As mush as I love the movie Balto, you are right, it was quite different. But it was based on the true story so the story line was correct. I would love to see a Balto movie in live-action about the true story! It would be fantastic! :P
BaltoClaw > It would take a lot of work to do this. Animation is possible, but you have seen the Balto 4 project. They have amazing animation for a fan project, but it is taking a long time just to make a trailer. It would take much longer to make a whole movie. As for live action, we don't really have the right equipment and actors. But it's not impossible

Yes, that's correct. It took 3 years to Universal to make Balto, and the same for its sequels. It's impossible to make a "fan animation film", unless there are many people that contribute (like for the "Wolf" project), but this is not the case.
For a real movie with actors, well, Ac would be a perfect musher.

Ac could be the musher, we would also need a lot of dogs and not to mention money  It would be really great though, so fingers crossed that someone will make one some day!

Thing is... could it be called balto? Since it would be a true story, there have to be Togo, Sepalla and so on....

Yes, because Balto is the main hero in the story. But you are right, Togo and the rest should be added in too and a name like 'The Serum Run' would be suitable. But the main character would be Balto still and the movie would be about him.

Wasn't the Balto movie made in 1925 a black and white silent movie? Or perhaps I'm mistaken.. never mind.

Yeah, it would have to be a live action movie, animated movies don't get much of a reputation any more..

yeah i do ....and make it as close to the real happenings as possible....not like the cartoon or anything.....that would be awsome.. :D

Yes. I think that a very sort of emotional and effective scene would be where Togo is injured and can't race again. Sad, but you know, plays with the emotions.

Uhhh... and what about movie w/o main hero?
Nay, just plain talk, I know... but... hehe... what about movie about Togo? Well, at least, it would be original...

Whats a 'movie w/o main hero'? Don't exactly understand what you mean by that. :?
I imagine if it was based on the true story and the facts, Togo would be in it. But you could make a movie about Togo, that would be a good story as well

Well... I mean a movie like... uhhh, for example warm movies. There isn't just one main hero, but whole bunch... (squad, platoon and so on...)
Or the TV series... f.e. Friends...

Oh I see, well, It depends on whoever is making the film. If they want it to be about the whole Serum Run, I suppose Togo would be a main character too. But I think Balto would be the main dog character in the film if a movie was made, but you never know...
