Okay as some of you may know Amber Sea got back and started sending art again, she has fresh new drawings which are bond to get stolen by some douchbag.
And already I found people not "stealing" her art but making ugly clones of her designes.
But as usual when I report something fan art mods seem to completely ignore my p.m and there's no point in arguing with a person who will say "no didn't copy cuz like I did it before her" and then to have rtard (mostly one of her friends) come in and interrupt to support the lies.
It's not the first time this happens and it won't be last time.

Another thing that bothers me is that little kids (or at least appantly by their drawing quality) go in and make an exact copy of pose and then changing the markings then they say they did it by themselves. And I ask myself how come this copys keep getting exepted? if it's a kid you don't have to yell just say something like "sorry but that drawing is far too similar to another one already done, we'll remove it. thanks"

I do realize that mods are not super mods or anything like that but when I send them a PM talking about art theft I exepect them to do something about it. Some say they're doing their best but apparently some's best isn't anywere near enough.
Yes this has been discused already about mods having their own life and time but then if they can't do the job they shouldn't go up to "mod needed" topics and ask to be a mod.

About the gallerie images; that has improved a lot and it's very good now.
Congrats to all you mods who do their jobs well out there, you know who you are.

Back to the image point is that I know there will always be some looser who can't pick up a ****ing pencil and draw something of their own.
But this? this is ridicolus! well as long as we know who the original is and worship the original's art, there's not so much of a problem.
Even though seeing somebody taking your art and ruin it with their crappy ideas is and will always be irritating.

We can all just ignore the problem and remove the images, or take some time trying to educate this people about fan art rules but that would take to long because usually art thiefs do that because they have issues with themselves and their crappy art.

Finally there has been some of bit more famous artists copying "young"-"unrecognized" artists ideas, that isn't ok but who's going to stand up for the new original fame-less artist? well this are usually rare ocassions but they do happen best thing to do is to know who made the drawing first.

Thanks for your time people who read this.

I don't really go to look at fanart because it is uninteresting, but I've seen many a topic about copycats, thiefs, etc.

From what I can make out, this is a big problem. And by the looks of it, the theives aren't getting any smarter. How hard is it to just quit when you suck and try something new? Perhaps try harder at whatever you're doing...

Now, I'm not a credible expert, and for that matter, I'm not even an expert. I've just seen alot of this (on the forums) and I think both mods and thieves should shape up.

P.S. Sometimes, as stupid as it may seem, thieves may be only doing a small thing and not thinking much about it-it's kind of hard not to notice theft, but I've been guilty of this.

Well before you start on 'younger artists work looking like older artists styles' Amber At Sea's art work looks amazing close to Pample's style, before you get into speaking about Style Ambers is not orignial to begin with so I wouldn't even mention here. Also 'shape up'? We are doing our jjob to the best of our abilities and I think we have shaped up recently. Their have been alot of improvements behind the scenes.

Now we are doing our best to prevent art theft. Their are some artists out their who are beggingers and or their work is not as great as others. But that does not mean we cannot just accept them. Each time an artists draws then learn and improve.

Also Pample was posting art on this site before Amber so don't tell me Pample stole Amber's style.

To prove my point, so I don't get a bunch of flames bashing me on how I'm picking on certain artists. WHICH I AM NOT.

Amber at Sea's work:

http://baltosource.timduru.org/affArt-l ... ong-1.html
[This Pose almost identical to the first link post in links of Pamples]

Vs.

Pamples:
[This pose is almost identical to the third pose on the links of Ambers]

http://baltosource.timduru.org/affArt-l ... ong-1.html

As you can she Amber's style has gone from her own to sadly quite Pample influenced. I don't like when this happens,Pample's style is nice but its so overused now a days. Why not stick to your own instead of copying? Please keep in mind I am not picking on Amber mearly stating that her style is very much like Pamples and is not original.

Pample doesn't like when people take her style either, how do I know? She has said so herself.

dud there's no need to use such a high tone. or the pics.

by the way I hope I can answear some of what you said with something I already said.

Congrats to all you mods who do their jobs well out there, you know who you are.

You do know who you are right?

No, no you're right your only pointing fingers trying to prove that she's copying pample. no no, you're not bashing her.

and you know I see differences between the styles big ones, that is my point of view so before you start saying that I don't know what I'm talking about I'll give you the fact person. I do.

by the way who in the world said anything about you?

Finally Balto-thing yeah I agree, it's easy to quit but they feel like what they are when they do that, like loosers. but they don't nkow that copying will only make them more of loosers. I think some mods need to shape up, but if I say anything else about mods I might make some paranoid so I'll just say it nicer.

This topic is open to all replies and I have said nothing about me. It is very clear her style is 'refrenced' off Pample. I am not using a 'high tone' and the pictures are to explain what I mean.

Ever heard about saying something without saying it? anyways it doesn't seem like that to me; it just doesn't I've seen her D.A and it's not like pample's, and whatever do what you want with the pics they're not needed because you already made your point.

By the way thanks for lowering your tone it's appreciated.

Her new pictures are quite like Pamples, her old work WAS not. This style change may be recent but its very sad to see such talent go fall into another person's style. When she has great potientional to seek out and find her own beautiful style.

Now that I agree with.
her work used to be more original and the new one does seem a bit more like pample's but not that much.
I think that she could create a newer style that goes further from pample's but even now I don't see such similarities. She's doing a good job.

And people are copying her work.

Her style is extrodinarily similar and I have yet to see anyone copy Ambers art and if so I have mistaken it for PAMPLE'S art theft.

I'd like to add that poses cannot be copyrighted, and no offense to Amber, but I don't see any really unique poses that stand out in most of her art. So even if someone referenced one of her poses, they are very very common, and a mod wouldn't be able to pick it out. So that's really a moot point.

We've already talked about this in another fanart topic.
The thing is, most of the time it's VERY difficult to know if a pose has been "copied" or not. So, it CANT be a rule.
This doesn't mean that mods can't refuse a drawing if it's 100% clear that the drawing has been traced from another one. But for doing this, mods would need to remember EVERY drawing on the site.

The thing I would like to know is why the mods didn't reply to your PMs. Who did you PM exactly? I've never received any PM from you, at least.

I am not stating about poses, I mearly pointed out the similarties. Mostly this is about 'style' but I did not recieve a PM either if he tried to contact a mod.

I agree.
I really like originality on poses even ideeas
I've been having a Pampleness inside me too..But now,for a while when I noticed this is not a good thing,I'm trying to do anything to get rid of the style..
Not because I don't like it..I understand young artists that they ripp off,but if they'd mention that they really used the style, would show a little decent part from them..
I don't like same styles..Beeing artist doesn't mean cause you draw a pic...and it cames along beeing same with anothers`,beeing artist having original ideeas,uniques,unused...That's the meaning of beeing an artist.
I don't have anything against Amber's drawings...But I don't like seeing same poses...and style,shading and all..

My shading is quite unused, and I'm happy about it,I haven't founded it so long time ago, like arround August...it's not the best, but at least it's unique, and I'm proud to be the only one with it.

I am trying to get rid of anything related to Pample style..I will re-use again mine which was pretty rare, and with some small imporvements during the months, and tada ! I will be as unique as possible(this was kinda off-topic)....

Oh ya and sure,I hate seeing same styles everywhere....it looks a little boring,it's like in life everybody would wear same cloths, acts same way, look same way...and I guess you'd have enough...

This is what I think....

And yeah, you don't have to say that Pample used Amber's style..because Pample sends on BS fan arts since 2004.

I haven't chimed in on this yet, cause it seems to be a topic that generates alot of controversy. But I'll say this....

WHO CARES??!!

I mean really, if one person copied another's artwork, then those people should argue it out among themselves. If someone is that worried about their fanart (and technically, Universal could issue a cease and desist injunction against every last one of you for using their character, don't believe it? I know someone that it happened to.) then they ought to put a watermark on it, or, if they are that worried about it, just don't post it. I have yet to see either Pample or Amber-at-Sea chime in on this, so I'll assume it's not really that important to them. I don't think artist A needs anyone to go to bat for them, and I don't think artist B appreciates being bashed. Not every piece of art is going to be absoluely distinctive, and if someone is influenced by someone else, that's more a compliment than anything else.
