It looks cool, but given that it was made by the director of Sin City, it looks like it isn't as good as it should be... (but then again I haven't seen Sin City), but it looks like they put in too much filler, romance stuff that isn't really nessecary. I think it could be a better movie if it was made by the guy who directed Troy.

I still like the idea of the movie, though. I think there's still a small monument where the battle took place, made by the Spartans, I think. It's simply a stone pedastal written in Greek, which reads something like, "Stop here, unknown stranger, and remember the warriors who fought in the defense of Sparta." (Not sure if that's word for word, but it's something like that.)

You mean in the place where the battle was? If yes, I'm quite sure that there isn't anything left there.
"Sir, the enemies have enough arrows to darken the sun"
"Good, at least we will fight in the shade"

Well, I saw a History Channel documentary about that battle (long before the trailer for this movie came out) and it did mention some sort of monument to the battle somewhere...

I've seen the old version of this movie. It wasn't anything like the movies these days but i liked it. Oddly enough, i saw the trailer for 300 the following week. It looks really really good. I can't tell what, but there's something about the film that looks different. Like the colors are more intense or something.
I can't wait to see it. It's out now but i've still got to wait for it to come out on DVD before i can see it.
